The Mount (not so) Pleasant

Absolutely disgraceful. The manager walked into the room we were in and unplugged my little boys iPod touch and said pay a pound to charge it or your not allowed too.We got a pound out and I asked my son to go and put a...quid in the box where you put the money and he didn’t know where to go, so I said I’ll go in a minute and about 20 seconds after he’d unplugged it, he walked in and shouted across the room that we were in and over people that were eating, he shouted “you gonna put it in or not ?!”. Bearing in mind this was before we could decide what we were even going to eat. Never returning unless that manager leaves,or he learns a bit of respect.More

Amazingly good home cooked food in a super friendly pub

Booked a few days away near here, and was searching for somewhere local to watch live football on a large screen and have a family meal at same time, messaged a few places, these was the one whom impressed me most and said would reserve...us a good table. When we arrived we could not believe how many televisions there was around the pub and the area we was in had a massive tv projector screen. Had a very happy husband, daughter and son-in-law. Lovely friendly staff who made you feel more than welcome with a very friendly atmosphere, ordered food which arrived in super quick time and was probably one of our best meals out we have had, if you are wanting amazingly good home cooked food at a really good price, just good honest non posh food this is the place to go. Everyone was so friendly with a real local feel about it, with all ages of people from a group of older people knitting in one area, family's eating, then also younger people just having a couple of drinks while watching live sport. Just everyone having a good time together, did not feel uncomfortable or unwelcome at all. Went in again just for tea a couple of days later before we came home, and had the most amazing gamon and fries, and best curry ever said so-in-law. When we come this way again will definitely come back. Big thankyou for the amazing staff.More

Wife's 40th birthday party 🎉

We had my wife's 40th their last night and as always the team were amazing . The lounge function room was brilliant and the staff from run up and onwards were fantastic ❤️ we tailored our buffet slightly which again went down brilliantly and everything...was effortless 👏 highly recommended and full praise to this venue it is and for as long as I remember the best pub in SouthportMore

Excellent Sunday lunch

Lovely Sunday lunch, cooked fresh not from frozen. Service quick, food hot as it should be. Much better than a chain! Highly recommended.

Great old fashioned Pub

It's so nice to find a Pub that serves food, and not a Restaurant that serves Beer as so many "Pubs" have become, and the Mount does this extremely well, great staff, friendly service, and IMHO some of the best food in Southport for the...money. We like it so much we eat here every Thursday.More

Very good home cooked food

I know that I have written his before, but 'The Mount' is a real pub serving real home cooked pub food at reasonable prices. The staff are always pleasant and helpful and a meal there is always enjoyable. It is the only place in which...I order liver, knowing that I wont have to cut away any 'nasty' bits.More

First time but not the last

First time at the pub and we were really impressed. Lovely meal, good portions.Well cooke and hot. Beautiful apple crumble and custard. Friendly staff. We'll be back.

Lovely pub with great home cooked food!

What can I say a great pub serving proper home cooked food with a good selection of drinks. We had the cod and chips and the rump steak and it was really lovely. would definitely recommend

Wonderful

We took a party of 20 from our Southport Friendship group there for lunch today. Service was perfect, and everybody enjoyed the food. Most of the group suggested we return there soon. Thanks to all involved.

Always a pleasure!

Great pub food, lovely landlady and staff! Regularly visit for lunch with friends, nothing is too much trouble! Returning for Xmas lunch again this year too.

As good as pub grub gets

Proper pub grub. It’s an absolute bargain and the food is great. The menu is varied, from sandwiches to steak to curry and beyond. The staff are friendly and it’s always clean. They do a discounted menu during the day as well which looks like...even MORE of a bargain. This place is somewhat of a gem and more people should eat here.More
