We've been going to The Swan for several years and, until our previous visit when the fish wasn't as nice as usual, have always had top quality food. Thankfully it appears to have been a one off as we went for lunch last week and...the fish was lovely, chips and mushy peas were superb, also a special mention for the gorgeous mug of hot milk coffee they do here. Horrible wait for take away

Horrendous waiting outside again every Friday is like this employ more staff for God's sake service so slow expensive food as well should give a discount for waiting ridiculous they know this happens every FridayMore

Award winning gem

Great place. Stumbled on it by accident and amazed its won some of the best awards as a restaurant. Staff have worked here for many years and lovely they are. Great chips!

A superb lunch you could enjoy

Been to this brilliant restaurant many times with the family and by myself. Never disappoints, you can tell whether food is going to be good by the amount of people in there, always full and people waiting to be seated after just 30 mins of...opening. Service and food is first class. Fish is the best I have ever had crispy and flaky with delicious chips and mushy peas. Try their homemade steak pie and homemade gravy, so delicious and all the food is fairly priced with an impeccable team of staff. Deffo being going many times in the future.More

Delicious fish and chips

Super greeting from staff, you immediately feel welcome. Service impeccable. Order taken quickly and drinks and food arrived piping hot. Traditional fish, chips, mushy peas but so delicious. Excellent fish and chips

Been visiting this chippy for years (since I was a child) impromptu visit to the beach last night meant fish and chips treat from here. Absolutely gorgeous fish & chips, queued to get them, queue was out of the door and down the street. So...that tells you how nice they are! Service was quick and didn’t wait long at all.More

Hidden gem

Great fish and chips. Could only use the takeaway having dog with us. Very nice meals and generous portions good value for money. Never been disappointed with any chippy in Southport I suppose they are either excellent or fail.

A wonderful restaurant!

Wow! What a wonderful restaurant - a rare find indeed these days! Huge thanks to everyone at The Swan for a delicious cod and chips tea, the food was served quickly and offered amazing value for money. Tasty cod, full of flavour, batter that just...melted in the mouth, a generous portion of hot chips and the best curry sauce I have ever tasted! Exceptional service from Bea who welcomed us with a genuine smile and really cared about our dining experience.
