Not being able to access these wonderful local award winning cheeses from York due to current Covid-19 travel restrictions i ordered a delivery and it arrived the next day complete with crackers and chutney. We had a scrumptious Nanny Blue, Doris and White Hilton Brie cheesefest for my wifes birthday. Can’t recommend enough for cheese lovers everywhere. Thanks Alison & Jonny

Such a lovely little cafe in a fab setting. It was raining when we arrived but we sat outside under cover and we were warm and dry, and we had a lovely view of the cows. I had a blue cheese toastie and it was super yummy and my partner had a bacon and egg sandwich which the owner told us came from the pigs at the cafe and that her partner cures them himself. Everything was local and really nicely done, and Allison at the cafe who makes the cheese was really knowledgeable and very welcoming. We ended up buying some of the cheese from the farm shop attached to the cafe because we liked it so much! Would definitely recommend this place!

We visited for a cup of tea and to shop for cheese and other items. We ordered a cheese box during lockdown which we really enjoyed so wanted to visit when we were on a weekend break in the area. The chesses are all really nice and the owners are very friendly and welcoming.

As we couldn’t hold our normal company xmas party this year Jonathan and Allison arranged to send out a selection of cheeses, beers, wines, crackers and chutneys to 30 of our staff across europe. We then held a session on Zoom where Jonny talked us through the various taste variations and sensations. Everyone who attended thought the whole thing was a great way to spend the evening and celebrate the season. Well done guys, I would definitely recommend this type of event, or just order a hamper of wines and cheese and it will not disappoint.

With plenty of space for outside dining Teesdale Cheesemakers are open for a range of drinks and snacks. We picked up a few essentials in the shop (cheese, piccalilli and fudge) before taking our seats on the terrace. We both ordered flat white Lonton coffee and the Toastie Special of the Day with Teesdale Goat’s Cheese and Caramelised Onion. Service was efficient and friendly even though the cafe was busy with people enjoying the sunshine. We are looking forward to the pizza nights returning in the summer!

Whether you are calling in for a delicious toastie, or coffee and cake, or to purchase the beautiful cheeses made on site, you will be sure of a warm welcome. There is nothing better than sitting in the sunshine, looking over the fields, eating great food, drinking fantastic coffee and chilling. Fabulous place !!

This lovely cafe, whilst closed to diners, is opening six days a week to support the local community with supplies of fresh produce and of course their delicious cheese and pork. And co-ordinating assistance for shielded and vulnerable households. If you can't visit now because you aren't local make a note to support them when all this is over. You won't regret it. Check out their web site and Facebook page for updates. Or buy a voucher for future visits and Cheese Experiences.

A meal out! 😀 Delicious artisan pizza and sweetza with a nice glass of rose at Teesdale Cheesemakers tonight. The spelt flour pizza base is a triumph, perfectly complementing the topping of tomato, peppers, mushroom, onion and plenty of Allison’s fabulous garlic cheese. We opted for one savoury and one sweet pizza to share. The dessert pizza with chocolate spread, banana and a dollop of lemon curd cheese was so tempting I forgot to take a photo. Trust me, it was divine. Book your pizza in advance (online booking) as it’s all freshly made and they might run out of dough. Currently available Fridays & Saturdays 5-7 pm

Friday night tapas is such a treat after a busy week. So much choice it was hard to decide but we shared a big plate of Nachos, then Garlic Prawns, Chorizo with Hummus, Caprese Salad (with Alison’s Garlic Cheese) and added some bread to mop up. We didn’t really have room for pudding but couldn’t resist the Biscoff Cheesecake washed down with Lonton coffee. Definitely worth the calories. The Friday evenings are justifiably popular with every inside table taken but service was charming as always and both drinks and food arrived promptly. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!

One night stay but wish we could.have stayed longer! Absolutely wonderful place! We stayed in the Ash cabin which was immaculate! Beautiful log fired hottub, in the most tranquil setting you could imagine. A lovely walk through the farm led us to a secluded woodland area with a stream running through it, then a walk down to the farmhouse cafe where we dined on home made pizzas cooked their wood fired pizza oven! The owners are an amazing couple who are extremely welcoming, fun to chat with and have a real passion for what they do. Did I mention the cheese?? What can I say about the cheese they make....its amazing! I suggest people try and buy every one! We will be back!

Firstly shout out to Robson Green’s TV programme otherwise we may not have come across this delightful place. Apologies for the delayed review from our stay in August. We received a warm and friendly welcome. A peaceful location with pleasant views and nature right on the doorstep of the lodge. A modern lodge, which is spacious. We thought it did miss a side table next to the bed. We pre-ordered a meat and cheese platter, which was enjoyed with a chilled glass of fizz as the sun set for the evening. We certainly appreciated the cheese more having had the interesting, friendly chat and tour with Allison earlier in the day, The cheese tour was informative and great insight into cheese making. Thank you. We ate breakfast in the on-site cafe and again the food was tasty with a friendly service. We had a lovely time celebrating a birthday during our stay switching off from the hustle and bustle of life. We agree with cheese and tranquility is the way to be. We hope to return and have recommended others to visit. Thanks again.

We met up with family and decided to go wandering looking for a tea room/coffee shop, we came across Teasdale Cheesemakers Cafe. Not knowing what to expect we were pleasantly surprised by the warm friendly welcome. Breakfast buns, bacon baps, along with the tea and coffee was delightful. Lovely selection of cakes too. The views across the dales is spectacular. We bought several pieces of the homemade cheese to bring back to London, my favourite is the Durham Blue and the garlic cheese. A good selection of local delicacies and gifts in the quaint shop. Definitely worth a visit. We will return on our next visit to stock up on local cheeses and of course the Durham Butter.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left Alison and Johnathan were amazing hosts and nothing was too much trouble for them. Johnathan showed us to our lodge and everything worked including the wood fired hot tub which was amazing under the stars! The lodges are off grid and fit beautifully into their surroundings with perfect views of rolling countryside and you are surrounded by nature and all its sights and sounds adding to the tranquillity. The food and drink in the cafe (and to takeaway) is top quality. Alison’s cheese making tour was a great insight into what takes place to get cheese to your plate and revealed Alison’s passion for her cheese making skills. Johnathan allowed us to see what goes on on the farming side as we helped him feed their pigs and he too gave us an insight into a typical day in his life and what got them to where they currently are with their business. They truly are amazing hosts with a great passion for their business which enhances the quality of your stay.

Hubby and I stayed in one of the glamping huts with our pooch. It's really quiet and romantic - lucky us, we had a perfectly clear sky to watch the stars from our hot tub. The hosts are friendly and helpful, and of course, the cheese and meat platter was yummy. We hope to go back again one day.
