A small Italian restaurant that sends great aromas out the door. Our meals were superb with some different menu items as well as long-time favorites. My short-rib pasta oozed flavor every single bite. The margarita pizza was fresh flaky and delicious. Lasagna was also delicious...and portions of all meals very generous.very generousMore

My husband and I discovered this place by chance as we were staying at the hotel across from it. The whole experience was amazing! We had a warm welcome, great hosts, and the food was to die for. Nothing was too much trouble and the...ambience and surroundings were incredibly authentically Italian. The food is clearly freshly made, with love and care, the taste is awesome! Best bruchetta n carbonara ive ever eaten. My hubby had the calamari and said it was melt in the mouth. If you have never been, you need to go! We will be back!More

Had planned to visit stirling and made sure I had allowed for enough time to stop in at mamma mia's for dinner. Looked over the menu and decided to start with foccacia mozerrela followed by lasagne and chips. Undoudtedly the best lasagne I have ever...tasted. Time passes as if in a time warp no rush from the kitchen or Saverio and you can go as slow as you like or otherwise. ~The mood brings on an atmosphere as if you were in some prominent region in italy. My friend had the mussels in a sauce with a chicken dish. Again everything was outstanding. We would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to anyone and will definetely return again.More

The food is good and the waiters and waitresses are very friendly but the owner/manager is unbelievably rude. I am local and eat out a lot but will never visit this place again. This is the second time we have experienced his rudest the first...time forgiven. Clearly just used to tourists.More

Visited for Pasta with a young lad from work. The staff were fantastic from the phonecall, to the Welcome, the pasta and the cheese cake. Fast service and really nice food. Thank you for being understanding and accepting ♡

My girlfriend and I booked late afternoon on evening of our visit. We were in Stirling for a couple of nights celebrating my 60th birthday but arrived at restaurant slightly late and owner Saverio said he wasn't sure whether he still had a table. Fortunately...he did (the last one). There were lovely pictures of his native Bari in South East Italy. I had a Moretti and girlfriend a prosecco. We shared a starter first - Caciocavallo all'argentiera (Sauted Southern Italian melted cheese served with toasted bread, honey.rocket salad and pink pepper. It was delightful and I wish I had one to myself :) My girlfriend thought about having the Carbonara which had great reviews but we both chose the house pasta specialty - Sugo Mamma Mia - the signature dish (a Bari ragu slowly cooked with Scottish short of ribs of beef in a rich tomato sauce with garlic and herbs with plenty pecorino cheese). Think the tastiest pasta dish ever (strange rectangular shaped pasta). We had a glass of red wine each hers was nice drier than she expected and mine very tasty. I had a Tiramisu with a double espresso and Jan had Mascarpone Mint & Lemon Cheesecake (both deserts made on the premises). Had nice chat with Saverio and was delighted when he brought a limoncello to us for my birthday. There was a fine atmosphere in the restaurant and I would advise anyone who likes beautifully cooked Italian food to visit Mamma Mia. Service excellent and we had a wonderful evening.More

Food was great proper depth of flavour. Hosts seemed really proud of what they were producing and rightly so. Book in advance.

This question was asked 4 years ago so things might have been different perhaps. In 2020, the portion sizes are definitely not small.
