Brea never fails to impress! Hubby and I went for a date night and we had a truly lovely evening! It’s so nice to find a restaurant that’s doing unique delicious dishes and not the same steak pie and fish and chips which you find...in so many others. The flavours in the dishes were delectable - the chefs really know what they’re doing! Hubby had the scallops which were cooked to perfection and I had the soup - something with blue cheese which at first I thought could be a bit strange but wow! One of the tastiest soups I’ve ever had! Mains of haddock and venison - again cooked to perfection and we even managed to fit in a white choc and Arran gold cheesecake to share which was delightful! Cocktails and wine were fab - was great to be able to get an organic wine too! And the staff were excellent - friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We always eat in Brea when we’re in the area - just wish it was closer to home so we could go more often!More

Normally, I love this restaurant and bring everyone here so was super disappointed when I brought a business connection from the City to enjoy Scottish hospitality, and it all turned nasty. At first the soup and service started well. They offered my daughter a colouring...book. The waitress, an Irish lady initially seemed kind and caring. However, just as the main course was served, my daughter devoured her pudding of brownie and vanilla ice-cream and subsequently started vomiting . She threw up everything that she had eaten and her throat started to close. For a mum of a youngster, this is a terrifying experience. We never got the chance to try the main because we were served Pistachio ice-cream instead of vanilla to which my daughter had an allergic reaction. We specifically asked for vanilla ice-cream and avoided nuts but the waitress contradicted me in front of my business colleague saying that I hadn't said she wasn't to have nuts and that I didn't ask for vanilla instead. I started to doubt my own sanity at a time when I was already really distressed. The waitress proceeded to argue and lecture me on not declaring an allergy (how can someone declare an allergy when the child has never previously had an allergic reaction?). Luckily I recognised the symptoms being a nurse. To add insult to injury, the waitress then took ages to get the bill as she insisted on fighting with me and continued lecturing me about how the brownie had pistachio's not the ice-cream however, my daughter hadn't even tasted the brownie. At a time where time equals life, it really wasn't fitting for the waitress to be telling me off in front of a business partner, a room full of people and my child. I paid 111 pounds for them to poison my child, serve two bowls of soup, and lecture me in front of a room full of people. We were in A & E until 4.00 am. Whilst I normally love this venue, food and service, following on from this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant to families.More

Firstly I would like it to be made perfectly clear we did not ‘poison’ your child. We treat allergies and dietary requirements with the utmost importance in Brea. The owner plus a number of the staff have specific strict dietary requirements, so if we are...More

We were looking for somewhere to have a light lunch and we liked the look of this restaurant while wandering around Stirling. We chose to share chicken and haggis croquettes, garlic bread and the Scottish cheese board and found all of these choices delicious. The...restaurant is lovely with friendly helpful staff and a fabulous menu. We would like to return for dinner when we are in the area again.More

I took some staff and clients to this restaurant recommended by one of our clients. Food was superb, service was impeccable. Pricing was fair and the portions were good, so much so we could not face a pudding. Interestingly they have not fallen in to...the trap of automatically adding a "Discretionary Service Charge" wish is such a pleasant change, because of this I left probably a larger tip than usual. Keep up the fab work, we will be back.More

One of our best meals in Scotland (14 days visit). We were with our 2 friends & were warmly welcomed & warned that service was slow due to pressure on the kitchen. But they gave us complimentary olives & bread & the wait was not...that long anyway. My salmon served a with a bisque seafood sauce was superb. Great ambience on a Tuesday night too with many happy diners. I warmly recommend. All 4 of us were impressed.More

This restaurant has won awards for a reason. We have been here two times and both times the food was simply exquisite! Not only the ingredients used are first quality, but they are also put together perfectly! This time my husband ordered a Scottish haddock...roll stuffed with smoked salmon, dill sauce, vegetables and mashed potatoes. I ordered one of the chef’s special of the day. I ordered pan seared salmon with a shellfish creamy sauce, season vegetables and I asked to swap the potatoes it comes with by puy lentils. Both dishes were delicious! The service is great, people are friendly and very helpful if you have questions. Portions and prices are right, too. I would say that this has one of the best meals we’ve had in Scotland. Will definitely come back over and over again! It gets busy pretty quickly, so it would be best if you make a reservation ahead of time.More

Very busy small restaurant. Food was good but not spectacular. Cullen Skink was very salty and not very hot. The main of haddock rolled in salmon was excellent, but way too big (half would have been enough). Wine by the glass had a poorer choice...than other local restaurants and was more expensive.More
