Excellent meal

One of the best indian meals we have had. The food, service and atmosphere were excellent. The restaurant was very busy but the staff were very attentive. The menu includes chef specials that are different from the everyday indian menu. The complimentary cup of mushroom soup was an added bonus and very enjoyable. We would definitely eat here again.

Lovely lunch with a Groupon voucher

We had a lovely three course lunch here using a Groupon voucher. The staff guided us through the short but interesting menu, pointing out that most things- apart from the naan bread- were gluten free. My friend had the chicken pakora to start with and I had the mushroom dosa. She then had a lovely chicken dish while I had a vegetable curry with boiled rice. The ice cream at the end was a lovely finish to a meal which was excellent value for money. Service was very good. At lunchtime there is plenty of parking in Queen Street. This is a restaurant well worth visiting,

Delicious food and Great service

Had a lovely meal this evening . Ordered a bottle of Sauvignon blanc whilst we were choosing from the menu and we were offered a complimentary spinach soup which was very tasty and a nice touch. Usually we order starters etc. and by the time we are half way through our main course we are totally full, so we decided to be a bit more sensible this time around and it was the right thing to do as the portion sizes are generous. I ordered king prawns in a very tasty creamy pepper and mustard sauce which had a nice spicy kick, along with lemon rice and a peshwari nan, which we shared...The rice was very light and the nan was beautiful .My partner had a spinach paneer dish along with a starter portion of lamb chops which were extremely tasty and not a bit was left of either..We were able to leave room for some coffee which for me was perfect, nice and strong .The service was excellent, friendly and professional but not too intrusive. We will definitely return and would recommend to others. The bill was very reasonable and the atmosphere was welcoming. Spotlessly clean too.

Great food but appalling delivery time

We love this restaurant, it's our go-to for special occasions. The food is amazing. But we ordered online at 6pm and the food didn't turn up til 8.30 pm - 90 minutes after it was supposed to. I guess they can't cope with the demand on a Saturday night. The food itself was great. Favourites are the Goan fish curry, fish pakora, butter chicken, ginger prawn poori, everything was really tasty. But either wait til they reopen post COVID19 or don't order on a Saturday.

Been here a few times and the service and food has always been excellent. Love the new menu! The staff are always courteous, polite and attentive. The cuisine is well prepared and always fresh. The manager is lovely, always going around the tables making sure you're having the best dining experience you can. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for authentic Indian food.

We found this lovely little restaurant around the corner from the Travelodge we were staying in. We did not think we would get in as we did not have a booking and social distancing was in place. The Owner and staff went out of there way to accommodate us and we were seated immediately. The food was fabulous and very reasonably priced, but an absolute bargain when you take into account the eat out to help out scheme. Will be our place of choice every time we visit Stirling.

STALE CHIPS

I meant to post this review sometime ago but forgot to. I placed an order (CC09D) for delivery on 9 October which included french fries/ slap chips and was provided with stale chips...as if these chips were lying around all day. On complaining via Facebook messenger to the store I was told that they would "do my chips next time" which i thought was presumptious- why would I want to order again from you after sending me stale chips. A good business owner would have immediately dispatched freshly made chips or offered a refund for the chips. To date neither has been done. So be aware of inconsistencies like this with their service delivery and customer care. There are many other restaurants and takeaways offering freshly prepared food and if there are any issues they resolve it immediately unlike Green Gates Indian Restaurant.

Wrong order (again)

I am a fan of the food at Green Gates and their set menu is very good value. However, on two occasions now they have made mistakes in terms of home delivery. Today, items were missing. Last time we were given the wrong order entirely and had to call up to get it redelivered (by which time it was almost cold). I usually wouldn’t go straight to a negative review but twice in a row really isn’t good enough. There won’t be a third time as I will take my business elsewhere.

Stopped off in Stirling for a quick dinner with the family and we couldn’t have been more impressed! The food came quickly and was hot, everything was cooked fresh. The staff were wonderful too. Would definitely recommend if your in the area, or even if you’re not.. it’s worth travelling a bit for. Best curries we’ve had outside of London and that’s coming from an Asian family haha

Fantastic Indian

We tried this Indian out for a family meal, first time we have eaten in this restaurant. Firstly during these times, we were a bit reluctant to eat out, however this place is spotless, and taking all the measure required to keep a distance between tables. Excellent selection of starters and mains, we all tried something different, the service was brilliant , the quality of the food was just sublime, one of the finest Indian meals we have all had in years. what an absolute find, as we are local. Prices are the usual of what you would expect for a quality Indian. Staff were attentive, friendly and professional, great service certainly would recommend this place, and we will definitely be back here that's for sure.

We had heard nothing but amazing reviews about this place! Ordered a collection, was told 30 mins. Arrived at 6.55 and didn’t leave until 7.45. Food was cold and the chips were like tar. Got money off for the wait which was good but if we weren’t so hungry we would have took it all back and asked for full a full refund. So sad but we won’t be back.

Great Food, Great staff, Great Service

We booked for lunch at 12.00 warmly welcomed and had a nice window table We took poppadoms with spiced onion dip .Paneer pakora and Chicken Dosa starters followed by Chicken Tikka Main and Chicken Tikka Masala all mopped up with a superb plain Nan. Finishing off with a very tasty Guleb Jamon . My partner who is not famed for liking Indian food was blown away with her choices . The Nan bread was exceptional At 12.99 pp this was a great menu for the money . I would recommend the Chef who is at the top of his game . Well done to management and staff for a most enjoyable lunch .

Great Indian Food and Good Service

We both enjoy Indian food and felt the meal we had here was one of the best we have had for some time. The room is like a well decorated house untipical of the run of the mill Indian, a refreshing change. Menu is not over long but includes all the main staples, a few different meals and a fair vegetarian selection. We enjoyed the complementary small cup of soup. Our starters were large , the small south indian chilli chicken dosa was a meal in itself and the onion barji was 3 large pieces freshly made. Masins were good and tasty. Everything we had was good so no complaints at all. Would come here again.

Too much salt

I ate in here in August and although the food was tasty, it was very salty. I thought perhaps it was just an off night. Tonight 17/9, we ordered a takeaway. Chicken jaipuri and rogan josh. The pilau rice was almost inedible it was so salty as were both of the curries. It’s a shame as the people are lovely and were it not for the salt the taste of the curry is delicious . We do salt our food at home, so it’s not that we don’t eat salt, but this has put us off eating here again.

Great service and fantastic food!

A lovely welcome, very clean with proper tablecloths and cutlery. Service was great throughout, we had two courses each but our favourite was the seafood curry which had a lovely flavour and not too hot. Would definitely recommend this restaurant if you visit Stirling.
