Arrive in Saundersfoot after 8pm only to find no one doing food after 8 , luckily was pointed in the direction of this lovely restaurant, there was quite a few in but they found us a table , the food was very good , 2...courses and a wine and a coke £47 , the service was excellent , will definitely go there againMore

On 25th April I received a telephone call at 4:30pm from the kookabar to confirm my booking for 3 adults for 6.15pm . At this time there was no mention of being short staffed or that they wasn’t serving desserts. We ordered our food with...the waiter with one of us having a smaller portion meal. The waiter who served us said “bare with him as he was working on is own front of house”. Two of us had eaten there many times. We ordered a meal that we have had previously (at least 4 Times) . In fact we had been looking forward to eating here since arriving in Saundersfoot. After asking if we could have the prawns pre skinned which the chef accommodated, the food arrived. The fish goujons was over cooked greasy and hard, and the prawns tasted as if they had been frozen ones and not fresh. On asking for the dessert menu we was told that no desserts or coffees was being served due to the staffing issue. Yet they continued serving pints and alcohol!. From my own experience it doesn’t take much to prepare desserts, we were only going to have an ice cream sundae each. Thankfully we have eaten here many times before and had this meal so know how nice it is. The chef did come out and apologise as we were disappointed, he went onto tell us that he found out at 4:00pm that 3 of his staff were not turning up for work that evening. I informed him that I received a call at 4:30pm confirming our booking, this was the ideal time to tell us that it would be a limited menu and no desserts would be available. Also on arrival at the restaurant they had the chance to mention that no desserts or coffees would be available. Maybe if they had just kept to table bookings and not welcomed walk in’s like they did when so short staffed then they have had the time to provide the dessert menu. If we had of known we would of rebooked with how much we enjoy this restaurant. It was a meal and evening that we had been really looking forward to but sadly it was a huge disappointment.More
