While travelling back to our home we stopped in past Meat Monsters in Ellon. First time there and will definitely be back. Attended the Fathers Day brunch today at meat monsters & as always it was incredible! Today I spent a whole day at Meat Monsters learning about the art of smoking meat & fish. The day started with the famous Meat Monster bacon rolls & introductions. We then heard about the science behind smoking and learned how to trim a rack...of ribs & mix our own rub, choosing from a huge array of spices & herbs. With the ribs in Lizzie, the smoker, it was time for a superb lunch of brisket and/or chicken tacos with all the trimmings. Alistair is a great teacher & his passion about smoking is clear for all to see. We moved outside as the weather was superb & found out how we could convert a gas bbq to a smoker & saw another type of domestic smoker learning some simple tricks of the trade that would help us when starting or improving at home. Having checked the ribs a couple of times & crutching them along the way, they were ready for the blind taste test. Everyone tried all the different ones & voted for the best one. They were all so tasty & great to realise we had done this ourselves! Next it was time to learn all about curing & mixing our own cure for a chunk of salmon. So much was packed into this day but everything was explained in an easy to understand way & also full of fun. It was a superb day, loved every minute & looking forward to trying out my new skills. Not the first time we have been as a family but this time we tried the beef ribs. Best ribs I have tried. The brisket is awesome and so is the pork. There is nothing bad I could say about anything. We will go back.

We decided to sit in and took our fussy 12yr old with us who even managed to find something she would enjoy. Food was absolutely spot in once again. The staff didnt bat an eye lid when I had to put in a last minute...takeaway order because my son and his girlfriend were jealous. All the food was cleared leaving us with full bellys.More

Everything about this place is brilliant, from the moment you walk in you feel like a member of the family and you can really tell they truly love what they do! We stayed in Newburgh for 3 nights and visited here twice because it was...that good!! The first visit we had loaded boxes and the second time we all had a banquet for 4. Both were done to the highest quality and standard and we polished off every single bite! Absolutely delicious. If you’re in the area you really have to go!! One of the best places we’ve ever eaten…food, atmosphere and everything in between amazing. If you were closer i think we’d be regulars! P.S thank you for the vienetta!More

We were staying near Ellon for 3 days and went here on the first night, it was so amazing we came a second time for the sharing platter and it was the most glorious selection of meat ever. The atmosphere is lovely, the food is...fantastic and the owners are incredible. It felt like we were at home! The best food, the best atmosphere, would 100000% recommend. Such delicious food! We shared the banquet for 4, which I highly recommend. Brisket, pulled pork, fried chicken, Mac&cheese, slaw, fries, onion rings, different types of sauces (variety of BBQ and seasoned mayo) and 4 soft drinks. It was all delicious. Blown away by the...fried chicken in particular. We all loved the brisket and pulled pork too. Love that vegware is used, hope it's all composted too. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. What an experience! The food was absolutely Devine, the people are so lovely! Would definitely recommend, I’m from Australia and have traveled so much world wide And haven’t had such delicious bbq!

The food was excellent, and despite them having run out of a few things the owner went above and beyond to make sure we got lots of food and a variety too. Even when my wife dropped our left overs on the floor, Alistair went...off to the kitchen and got some more for us to take home! 100% coming back and bringing more friends!More
