The Egerton Arms is a traditional country pub with low beams, big fireplaces, bizarre antiques and a long bar with old brass pumps. Having now been revived as a local to the townsfolk of sunny Chelford, the pub features a fully equipped hundred-seater restaurant with friendly table service. All food is sourced locally by our experienced and very serious chefs (serious about food that is). The menu is a selection of classic pub favourites and then the chef goes wild on his specials chopping board.
The Egerton Arms is located on the busy A537 just outside Chelford. There is a large car park with ample parking spaces. There were four real ales on offer from local breweries but no known national ales. Lager was available but only the choice of...high priced foreign beers. The food menu was varied with something for everyone and was cooked and presented to a high standard. The pub was clean and warm and was set out in a traditional way reflecting the historic nature of this pub. There were plenty of staff who were all very friendly and efficient. The service was excellent. If you are in the area I would certainly recommend a visit to the Edgerton Arms.More
Went for a meal today at the Egerton Arms at Chelford my wife had a fillet steak and asked for it medium well no blood, it came rare. I had a Turkey breast dinner which was very bland and the vegetables were cold..
The service...was slow.
Won't be going again because when we told them about it they didn't seem to careMore
We are here at Sunday lunch recently. The food was very, very good. I had lasagne which was
The best I had had for some time and my wife had the venison pudding which I was very jealous of (and she said I was right...to be jealous!). The ambiance was really pleasant and the staff very efficient and friendly. Slightly pricy but the food was exceptionally good.More
We returned to the pub yesterday for Sunday lunch. We came a few months ago and left feeling disappointed as the young girl serving was rude and uninterested. We decided to give another chance and well, what a very different and outstanding experience this time....The young waitress (Lyd or Liv?) was excellent, extremely kind and helpful, spoke to my children and was very attentive despite it being busy- I hope she got her tip we left!!
The roast was delicious, puddings to die for and what a cosy experience with it snowing outside as we ate. The pub has a lovely traditional cosy feel with open fires.
Thanks to this experience we will continue to come back.More

Thankyou so much for this - sorry you were deterred by a disgruntled member of staff - im happy to say this not a common experience as we are always training and encouraging on a daily basis . so glad you have come back and...More
I have eaten here many times previously and thoroughly enjoyed it. However on our most recent visit (9 Oct) we were very disappointed.
The initial welcome was not warm, more like we were an irritation and the waitress was not well informed about the drinks...that were on offer - eg lagers & soft drinks.
I ordered a slow cooked chicken tikka masala & tbh it was inedible. The chicken was really chewy & dry, whilst the vegetables that were in it were undercooked. My daughter’s lasagne was sloppy & flavourless with big chunks of meat. The onion rings were just lumps of greasy batter - not crispy & lacking in flavour.
To be fair, the pie & chips & pizza that were also ordered were fine.
Once we had our food, no-one came to ask if everything was ok, or whether we wanted any more drinks.
I won’t be back in a hurry 😕More
Excellent steak, friendly landlord and attentive staff. All good. What more could you want? Reasonably priced and easy to access. Not far from here I have had to remortgage for a bowl of pasta so I could even afford a few beers with my steak...at the Egerton Arms. Manny ThanksMore
We went on Tuesday which is 50% off steak, the 8oz ribeye whilst tasty (you’d expect it since they get it from a local butcher) looked more like a flat iron steak, they seemed to have tenderised the living daylights out of them in order...to get them out quickly!
The chips were excellent as was the prawn crayfish cocktail, apart from it was actually a salad!
I have been before and their burgers are excellent, maybe stick to them. As a chophouse don’t go and visit Miller & Carter!More
