Visited The Vale this weekend with friends and dogs. Service was excellent from start to finish. My companions ordered the "to die for ribs" for starter - the sticky bbq sauce was awesome. I had the calamari and our friends opted for the humous and pitta bread. We were all quite full so getting through our mains was a challenge.... More

The pub is in fact a large room set in an old terraced house-not small but quite an unusual set up. They've got an open fire in the corner of the room which gives a cosy atmos so all in all; welcoming! Beers are direct from the Bollington Brewery up the road and I can highly recommend the blond 'Long... More

Simple but tasty menu e.g. macaroni cheese; gammon, egg & chips; burgers; sandwiches & soup. Cosy and friendly ambience.

It was one of the best meals I have ever had! The roast beef was succulent and tender and everything else on the plate was delicious, the girls both had gammon, the only complaint was that it was too big! The wine was perfect and the beer is the best you can get. It's not even expensive and it's right... More

Visited mid week when eating on my own. Great range of beers, with great barman happy to let you sample before making my choice. Then for food the menu offered a great choice and with specials available off the black board I took my time before deciding, and was not disappointed with the Mac&Cheese! Staff we very attentive and friendly,... More

The best pub in Bollington, amazing food complimented by beer they brew themselves... to top it off they have a great friendly landlord, fab staff and if the weather is fine the newly refurbished beer garden overlooks the park which is perfect for people watching… can you tell that we frequent this great pub on a regulars basis?!

A great little pub with a good selection of ales and other drinks. Food was very good (although I was jealous of the special that a few on our table had, compared to the special I was a little disappointed with my pie...) Staff were very attentive, making sure our large group was looked after. Although it was busy and... More

This is a traditional English pub with beer and pies. There are no high chairs and no changing facilities so it is clear that young children are not welcome. It is ideal for young men with occasional couples. The food is fine but the service is so slow you can't really appreciate it. Not one to return to with children.
