Walked across the fields to the Windmill pub today (Thurs) for lunch, after checking on their website that food is served from 12pm to 2:30pm. I attempted to order a couple of sandwiches a few minutes after 2pm after having to wait a good few...minutes until someone came to the bar. I was told that the kitchen was closed, the bar person double checked, and indeed it seemed it was impossible to make any sandwiches due to X, Y, Z. I mentioned to the staff member it seemed an excuse rather than a reason, she assured me it was the latter rather than the former. On reflection, I stand corrected - when I subsequently ordered a beer at 2:45pm, I overheard the chef wishing folks good bye, prior to his departure home, I just hope he didn't have to go the extra mile. Question: Do you really need a Chef to make a sandwich, if so, how many?More

Dear Mark On the day of your visit we had been extremely busy and due to reasons X,Y & Z extremely short staffed. After successfully delivering 100 meals to the garden in 90 minutes the team decided to cut service short as we had to...More

Went for dinner tonight. The staff were exceptionally friendly, accommodating and efficient - even when we arrived when they were rammed. The food was of good quality, nicely cooked, beautifully presented and most of all tasty. We had a great night. Recommended.

My family went there to celebrate our granddaughter 18th. From the start the proprietors and their staff were lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The food was delicious, hot and timely & presented beautifully. The food is excellent value for money. The atmosphere...was so relaxing even though the pub was busy, the staff was attentive, friendly and happy to help. Definitely will go back.More

Went one Sunday, place was absolutely packed. It was clear they had over booked. We were punctual and had been told that they spaced out their bookings to ensure good service Ha Ha Ha. Had to wait 20 minutes after the time we had booked...for the table to be cleared. The guy that was doing it spent most of his time talking with a customer and feeding their pet dog. Yes dogs in the restaurant. Once we had sat down it took a further 50 minutes to get our meal. They said afterwards proudly that they had served over a 100 meals that day. We know we saw most of them whilst we were waiting for ours. Food was okay but ruined by the sheer numbers. Vert few people wearing masks no social distancing would never ever go there againMore
