Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Excellent meal and service. Table for 4 booked by email a week in advance for Sunday lunch. No problems at all with that and staff were willing to allow our little dog to be with us providing we ate in the bar (fine with us)....All confirmed by email. Staying at a holiday park a couple of miles away. No trouble parking at the rear of the Inn. Arrived an hour early, table ready nonetheless and we had time for drinks before ordering. No pressure. Within a half an hour the place was packed. Smashing food (3 different sizes of Sunday roast) and plenty of it if you are a big eater. Great choice of local ales too. Staff were friendly and attentive. No delays with food or drinks. Desserts lovely too especially the chocolate cheesecake. Didn’t have that ‘chain’ feel about it. Proper old English inn. Really enjoyed the visit. Thanks!More

Stupid to trust my husband to find a place to eat. He barely looked at anything in detail. Food arrived for to quickly and was far too cheap. His was spicy so covered any sins. Beef Stroganoff was barely cooked and unbelievably tastless. Simply not...worth eating. Pub very noisy two enormous Televisions showing Football in competition with very loud music through. Speakers. I was glad I had stopped eating when I saw an example of health and safety. Next table had a fresh round of drinks. Full glass of wine fell over ( because the two tables pushed together were not level) glass smashed.a member of staff came with a broom, for floor sweeping. Proceeded to brush the table top and collect glass pieces and wine in a dustpan. Wet table was left to dry , with no further cleaning. How old or dirty that broom was is unknown but it has to be incredibly dirty even after a single use brushing the pub floor. No second drink or dessert ordered. A hasty retreat recommended.More

Visited for an evening meal on two nights and very impressed on both occasions. Good selection of beers and food was excellent and reasonably priced. One surprise is how busy the place was. It seems a lot of locals pop in, so it certainly fills...up. Got a table midweek, but would advise booking a table if eating at weekends.More

Fantastic food, service and welcome. We ate outside with our dog (as the evening sun was out!) but were told we were welcome inside. We ordered inside and bar was bright and modern. The service was friendly and warm and the locals were too. We...enjoyed a delicious dinner on the first evening of our week away. Could go back every eve. Would definitely recommend. Thank you ☺️ Dog friendly, visitor friendly, good size car park.More

Very much a local pub, with darts and pool table, sports on a tv and the bar stools all packed with locals. Generally felt crowded. Food was ok, we had the Sunday roasts. Nice they have three sizes / prices for the roasts. Servers were...very friendly and helpful. Was not quite what I expected from the reviews.More

Visiting from Windsor and not knowing the area at all we visited for drinks and food on Friday night. Very impressed with food and drinks with the added bonus of a Guitarist/singer called Josh. Our servers were great and looked after us well, didn’t get...their names sorry but both young guys did a fantastic job thanks! Will come back in July when next in Cornwall. 😊More

We visited here on our way back to Devon and we are so glad we did! The food was INCREDIBLE and both staff members were polite and friendly. We were also impressed with their lunchtime deals with drinks, making our food much more affordable than...we expected for proper pub food. I only wish the weather was warmer as they had a gorgeous beer garden at the back that looked incredibly inviting! Thank youMore

We came to bodmin holiday Park and booked the Saturday and Sunday evening here to eat. There was so many choices in the menu we didn't know what to choose. we all had something different and ended up jealous of each other's foods. We all...really enjoy our meals and we were not disappointed with the roast on the Sunday either. Very filling portions. Staff are super friendly too, definitely need to book as people were getting turned away!!More

The pub is quite spacious inside and caters well for people with different diets (vegan, gluten free). The food was very good and service friendly. Good selection of drinks. They accommodated a large group of us at short notice which we really appreciated as the...nearby Premier Inn where we were staying let us down for dnner service.More

My husband and I stopped at the Lanivet Inn on the way to Bodmin. We had a cheese and coleslaw sandwich, with a side of fries and scampi and chips, as well as a couple of pints. It was all very tasty, no complaints.
