Wow, lovely retail shop front that suggests something a little special ..... & it was. Great choice of pastries & savouries. Too many things to chose from so the takeaway option seemed like a good idea on the way out too ! Service pleasant , prices as you would expect & well worth a visit if visiting Richmond Enjoy

Excellent service and excellent food. Shame the cafe is so small. The atmosphere can be a little claustrophobic with everyone eavesdropping on your conversation.

Only had a macaroon milkshake but it was delicious. The cake selection was very tempting, and the sandwiches and baguettes looked very good.

Convenient for Richmond station, this place has lots of nice cakes and breads, and nice coffee. Staff look a bit miserable but the food and the place itself are fine. Pleasant for a snack and a sit-down.

Without a doubt one of my favourite places to go for lunch when visiting London. I usually have a goat's cheese baguette followed by a delectable and aesthetically pleasing slice of something sweet. For comparison, think of an upmarket Pret (flavour and choice based) with not too much of a price difference but the added bonus of a welcoming environment.... More

Attentive, efficient service, but otherwise quite an ugly, rather dirty and overpriced place. The place seem to be very busy, but it should not mean there should not be any effort in keeping it neat and taken care of.

Good branch of PAUL - range has got a little smaller in recent years. The service is not as good in this one as other PAULs that I go to. Coffee always very good.

Worst eggs Benedict ever, fried toast, fatty bacon and the eggs were massively over cooked (what more in a poached egg machine obviously) however, the kind man behind the counter gave us our money back for this joke of a breakfast!

Firstly Pauls has to be commended on its service, lovely pastries and drinks . Presentation is excellent. Staff friendly. Unfortunately not much seating as small premises. We were seated towards the back of the cafe and due to the age of the building there is a smell like mothballs which i know cannot be helped but it put me off... More

Lovely pastry on the leek tart but very small given the price. Same with the apple turnover. Nice cup of tea.

Description
You will find our Bakery & Café at 13 The Quadrant, just down the hill from Richmond Station in this popular and attractive town on the banks of the Thames. Richmond started to grow in importance when Henry VII rebuilt the manor there after a fire in 1497 and named it Rychemonde after his earldom in Yorkshire, at which point its status changed to 'palace', drawing craftsmen and members of the royal household to the village, as well as people moving to the country to escape the plague in the city. In medieval times the Green had been the jousting ground. It was also common land where villagers were allowed to pasture their sheep. It is still there, just a couple of minutes' walk from our café, but minus the sheep. There have been numerous very fine buildings erected in Richmond over the years, many of which still remain. The river frontage is most attractive, Richmond Theatre has an excellent reputation, there are plenty of good shops, the nearby Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew are glorious, whilst Richmond Park itself is one of the great Royal Parks and the largest enclosed space in London. Covering 2,470 acres, it was first enclosed in 1637 by Charles I to provide a hunting ground close to Richmond Palace and Hampton Court. The oaks in the park are very old, some of them representing the survivors of the medieval forests which once surrounded London. Seeing the herds of red and fallow deer is a particular pleasure. We look forward to welcoming you to PAUL in Richmond. Come in for a Parisian-style breakfast, a light lunch, teas, coffees and delicious patisserie, or just to buy your daily bread from our freshly baked, hand made range. Closest station is Richmond (District Line, London Overground, National Rail). 30 seats are available. Disabled access available. Free wi-fi.
