We went here for a Sunday lunch, the place is a historic small tea room. Very busy and a little cramped, best to book in advance. A quaint old building with a lot of history. We went for high tea but ended up having lunch. The meals were hot and quite nice considering having read some earlier reviews. The cakes... More

When we arrived we were met by a very dour untidy looking waitress. When I explained to her that I had a table reserved she looked blankly at me and shrugged her shoulders almost in confusion and that look of oh no, a customer to serve. I looked down at the diary and could see our names and pointed them... More

Had high tea. Cakes and scones were nice enough. Sandwiches were below average - cold bread, slapped in fillings between a cheap sliced loaf. Service was the slowest I have ever experienced by inexperienced staff. Don't go out of your way.

Is one of those very few left traditional English style places that gives you the sensation of being at your aunties cosy living room and she's cooked for you Sunday roast or you just go for tea with tasteful sandwiches and a vast range of delicious cakes and famous tarts. Is a treat that goes very well after visiting kew... More

Great cakes, good tea and a nice place just outside of Kew Gardens on the Kew Road. We have come here on and off for almost 30 years, it's a reliable old-fashioned tea and cake place. Yes they serve hot food too but it's a tea place for most. The cakes are good and come in decent portions, the tea... More

We were so looking forward to are special tea. Poor service, not made to feel welcome, slow service. Carpets dirty. Waitresses dress filthy. Very disappointing.

We went here for afternoon tea, never having been before and yet passing it hundreds of times, being locals. We waited a few minutes alongside the the "wait here to be seated sign, only for three staff to walk past and ignore us before a waitress finally showed us to a table. The place was buzzy and had a nice... More

Love their sausage roll! Quaint and old fashioned. Also recommend the afternoon tea. Their pastries and also to a very high standard. Also offers takeaway.

This place has been a favourite of mine for many years serving high quality coffee and cakes. I have been for lunch but the price of a hot lunch is just too high. Today I came in for cakes to go which are fabulous quality and not too expensive. As the cafe was full even on a early afternoon consider... More

We have been visiting Maids of Honour for decades but recent changes to staff and pricing have altered the character and atmosphere of this once delightful tearoom. When we visited on a wet weekday afternoon a few days ago, it was nearly empty and there was only one young man who was waiting on customers. He was almost a pantomime... More
