Went here with work friends! We had sashimi and then ordered different mains. My food was delicious and we were all pleased. My boss comes here all the time as it is her favourite Japanese restaurant. There's a nice atmosphere and good service

For a birthday, we came to Maki, 12 people and we get served quite quickly... along discusssion about the best sake cold or hot... the sushi and sashimi were nice, normal portion! a good place to start a party... but I recommend to try one of the curry or noodle soup in complement of sushi and sashimi to be ready... A varied menu with good advice from friendly serving staff. A very tranquil decor provided the backdrop for some very tasty food. Larger than expected portions meant we didn't need a dessert which was a shame as the ice cream flavours sounded interesting!

We used to go to Maki very frequently and it has always been great, although on the pricey side. We went back last Friday after some time. We had made a reservation on line, when we arrived they did not have it. We got a table anyway which was ok. The food was good as always but we were surprised... More

Today I visited this restaurant with a friend after finding a Groupon offer of two courses for two £24.50. What a brilliant deal I felt it was. We ordered two starters - one soft shell crab and another vegetarian tempura. Both generous portions. Especially the tempura. Next were the main courses. Both of us went fir the sushi. My dragon... Just came back from there. I had family visiting, and wanted them to have a nice Japanese meal. They all enjoyed it a lot, and we got two complimentary dishes on the house. We had a very pleasant evening. I have also ordered takeaway a few months ago and I remember being very fresh and tasty. Will definitely come back... More

Apparently what a friend of mine told me about opening a restaurant with a foreign theme (i.e. Italian in U.K.) is tue: it implies adapting the original flavours to the local taste, resulting in hybrids which may be loved locally, but may also be a massive disappointment of the native country of the theme proposed by the restaurant. I looked... More

Just wanted to leave a short comment as quite a few reviews talked of poor service. We went on a Sunday evening and it was quite quiet but food and service were exceptional. Would definitely recommend.

In the past I was a regular visitor to Maki (twice per month), but then it lost a lot of it's draw after the latest refurb (now a few years ago), which created the lugubrious ambience that still pervades today. Despite this, the quality of the food and the reassuring presence of Bobby the manager ensured my continued (but much... More

Since the manager has left. This restaurant is going downhill fast. The service is not was it used to be. I would recommend Uni in twickenhamm. We have just enjoyed a great meal there. All the sashimi very fresh and my husbands pork noodles were delicious
