About
The Beer Cellar & Restaurant is located in a fantastic basement sitting underneath two Georgian buildings in the town centre of Richmond Upon Thames. It is a labyrinth of cosy areas in the bar and a great restaurant on the lower levels. It has natural sunlight coming through the roof windows where it sits between the two buildings, so is lovely and ambient in the restaurant. Our venue caters for most people & events : If you just wanted a quick beverage at the bar, through to a sit down meal in the restaurant or an area for your party and friends or any organised event.

Booked for a work function, it was helpful that we could order from the menu ahead of time, and the food was fine but not great. The ribs were ok, not amazing, the chips were fine, but the dessert -apple crumble- was poor. You know...it’s bad when I can’t finish it. But the main issue was with the noise. We literally had to yell our loudest, to the point where our voices hurt. It wasn’t just our booking, the place just isn’t designed for noise. I left as soon as I could, and quite a few of my colleagues did the same.More

We visited Richmond for a few days from the Isle of Wight and chanced upon this unique restaurant and cellar bar. The staff were so friendly we immediately felt at home. The selection of craft and foreign ales & lagers was staggering. A comfortable retreat...from the activity in the streets above. Highly recommended.More

Fabulous meal and superb service. We arrived on Saturday evening but they couldn’t find our booking, the reason was I’d booked the wrong date. They were so accommodating and managed to find us a table for 4 even though they were really busy with a...40th birthday party and other guests. Beers and wine were excellent, a great menu choice and good didn’t disappoint. The whole atmosphere and ambiance was just right and the staff were very attentive. We were all very happy and will return.More

Booked here for dinner on a Sunday in Jan 2022 after visiting Kew Gardens. You have to go down a small flight of stairs to get to the restaurant. Very impressed by the meal and the service - Kingsley was our server and he was...one of the most attentive servers (always filling our water and checking on us every so often to make sure everything was fine). This type of service was much appreciated. The veggie roast dinner was lovely although the nut roast tasted a bit average considering the price. Really liked the veg that came with it. The steak was great and the chips were amazing! Ended the meal with a sticky toffee pudding which was nicely presented and tasty! Would definitely recommend.More

Visited the vault after seeing a rugby match in Twickenham. We were greater and shown to a table as soon as we entered. Food was absolutely phenomenal. We had the ribs and truffle garlic bread for starters. The meat fell off the ribs absolutely tender!!!...For mains My husband had steak and I had mixed grill. More than enough on thr mixed grill. Tasted amazing. This is a craft bar so the drinks were a little more different to what we are used to. However still got a decent pint. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or visit again.More

My all time favorite restaurant in Richmond. I always try to arrive early so i can enjoy a drink in the bar area before moving to the dining part of the restaurant. Top tier restaurant/bar in Richmond 👍
