Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our friend chose this wine bar for his birthday intending to celebrate with a couple of bottles of wine. The environment quickly became hostile when the waiter became pushy about ordering food. Things escalated when the owner became confrontational, reprimanding us for not ordering food...and complaining about turning down other reservations to accommodate us. The owner insisted that it’s a restaurant however the tag on Google is “wine bar” and that is what our friend used to decide on where to host his celebration. It is also worth noting that when making the reservation, there was no mention of a minimum order requirement or clarification regarding food and drinks preferences. While we could understand the owners disappointment at the misunderstanding, this unexpected and hostile reaction marred what should have been a pleasant celebration. We won't be returning and wouldn't recommend it. Perhaps the owner should look into amending the tag on Google and brushing up on his hosting and social skills.More

Beautiful location in Ghargur; an inspiring atmpsphere of Maltese tradition, and mediterreanenan vibes. Historical building, fantastic set-up. Menu is an experience. Had Caserecce, just heaven. Wine list is an amazing selection, very refined. Just 10 mins from everywhere in the Island. Don't miss the place....Owners Rene and Sue, and whole team, are great.More

We found this little pearl almost by accident, but it is the peak of our Malta experience. The location is teeming with ancient atmosphere. The food is absolutely delicious. Prepared with love and served with friendly smile. One of those rare experiences that makes up...good memories. Thanks!More

Away from the traditional touristical places, in a seneric Maltese village, this restaurant is a beautiful find. In what was the Wine Bar from the village long time ago (House is hundreds years old)...lots of caracter, intimate and cosy. I am French and my wife...Maltese, we both enjoyed it very much. Cooking is simple but excellent. service is smiling and courteous. A nice choice of wines within decent prices (we dont drink much but with honest rates we do!)... A place not to miss!More

I was just reading the reviews and said to myself why not add one myself after all I visited the place many times. Very old bar in Gharghur which is a small quiet town. Lovely bar area though I prefer staying upstairs which is very...quiet. Lovely stuff and the owner is a wine enthusiast. When I look at the menu, I usually ask the owner opinion for the best food to choose and also best wine. Highly recommended….keep it up. See you soon again.More

This restaurant/wine bar is an ideal place for both a small group of friends and a lovely date night. We went as a small group. The servers were very nice to us, they took care of us all night even though the place was packed....We felt save as covid guidelines were adhered to very well. We took 2 platters and they were also very good and had good variety. We all took steaks which were both tasty and good in portion size. The owner picked a very good wine for us and we loved it! Will definitely be back!More

Had an amazing mains of risotto. Perfect consistency, cooked to perfection. The owners are SOOO nice. Wish them really well, as they do such a great job. Hope the wines will be back on the menu, after this Covid November; however the perfect food goes...very well with a sparkling water too! Bravo!!More

As an appetizer I ordered a leek and cheese cake. It was completely tasteless and seemed to be something you made out of the freezer and drove a little well hard in the microwave. For dinner I chose ribeye steak medium rare, my friend chose...the same dish. The meat we got was completely tasteless and dry, reminiscent of old bread. My friend got an equally boring steak. For the food, my friend chose two different red wines which tasted good but unfortunately expensive. My wife chose lamb shank which we chose to take home with the dog. But my husband I didn't even have the heart to give to the dog. Unfortunately, my review of the restaurant is very negative, but the wait staff was good. Don't go there, you want to drink wine so ok but the food is awful. If the owner reads this then I suggest he change the chef or at least sample the food before serving it.More
