This was such a good experience. We stopped by chance just for a drink, but the real fire enticed us to stay longer on a miserable day. We had the soup, a brilliant cheeseboard for two and a few drinks and could barely drag ourselves out into the cold. The service was really helpful and friendly and we would defo.... More

Decided to try an early evening meal here as it was so close to our b & b. From the moment you walk in you are greeted with smiley, friendly, happy staff. They have a great varied menu. Ordered a reasonable pub priced bottle of sauvignon blanc. Shared a starter of lamb koftas....omg they were amazing,so fresh & full of flavour .... More

Stopped here for a quick lunch as running late to catch our ferry. Our sandwiches were brought out quickly and were amazing. Lovely thick cut fresh bread, tasty cheese and great chutney and a few unexpected hot chips on the side. Staff very friendly although drinks rather expensive.

Stopped for lunch. My husband had a sandwich and I chose the ploughmans. Husbands sandwich with chips and salad was fine. My ploughmans was a let down due to the bread. The main part of a ploughmans is the bread and cheese. It came with a baguette that was soft and doughy. Not pleasant. Due to not having decent bread... More

Hubby and I had an unexpected evening to ourselves so decided to make the most of it and go out for dinner. Now I like my food and am not a chef, but so often when we do go out I end up disappointed by the food and could do better myself. So we decided to try somewhere we hadn't... More

We visited this lovely pub on the edge of the New Forest, just outside Lymington. Wonderful warm welcome from Jack and Tom and lovely log fire burning. We had a fabulous meal - cod with a Welsh rarebit topping with leeks and sautéed potatoes, all cooked to perfection. We shall be visiting again! Thoroughly recommend!

Another trip to The Hobler, and another very satisfying visit. The pub is so cosy and comfortable with its open fire, and staff who can't do enough for you. They say the devil is in the detail, and that's true for this pub who goes as far as making its own tartar sauce. Can't wait to go again, thanks Jack... More

The Hobbler was just across the road from my B&B. Typical English pub style food and at a reasonable price.
