Had a fantastic fish and chip lunch on a Monday and was surprised at how busy this pub was. The service and food were absolutely excellent and would definitely be returning to this superb village pub. I would definitely recommend booking as this place does...seem to be very busy.More

My sister, who lives locally booked a table for 5 , we arrived to be told our booking didn't exist, not a great start, no apologies offered. However, they did find a table for us , albeit one that was too small to seat 5...comfortably. The menu was poor, somewhat of a relic from 3 decades ago, gammon and pineapple, steak pie, sausage and mash. In fact 4 of the options available on the menu were sausage based dishes. Including one of the 'specials' Desserts included banana split, sticky toffee pudding, chocolate sundaes and ice cream, not really culinary inspired dishes. The food was freshly cooked and portions were generous, prices were good. Overall it was a mediocre effort and one not worthy of a return visit or recommendations, unless you hanker after an eighties menu and have an obsession with sausages !!More

We decided to have a day out in Culross, Fife. A beautiful village tucked away with some stunning buildings which took you back in time. We had lunch at the Red Lion with a menu that like the village also took you back in time....With menu choice and presentation I thought I was at a wedding in 1980. I thought I better eat up or I will miss this week’s episode of the Sweeny. This menu really needs a revamp as does the presentation. A positive, the young team serving were very helpful and do great job keeping things going. Overall a beautiful village great location for a pub but serious work needed on the food offering and presentation to bring it up to date. With current food offered I would not return. Very disappointedMore

Friendly staff and a very interesting pub inside. Scored 3 because there was no real ale on and the food, I would say is of Wetherspoons standard. The pub caters for the tourism and was very busy. If I was a local and wanted fresh...cooked food I would not eat here. But like I said, it ‘filled a hole’ and staff were friendly.More

Hi Nessyn, Thanks for taking the time to write a review. I apologise for not having any cask conditioned beer on tap but with the current situation my beer sales are not at a level that would give me confidence that we would sell 2...More

Excellent food, with good gluten free and vegetarian options. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I was very glad to see that they took covid precautions seriously, and I felt safe eating there. We will go again next time we are in Culross.

This historic pub is well worth stopping by, just make sure to phone to ensure a reservation. Several tasty, thoughtful vegetarian options available - their take on veggie lasagne was especially delicious!

Popped in for lunch with our dog and sat in the pub garden. Menu was really extensive and had really great vegetarian options for my partner! The service was really good and the waitress in the spotty dress that we had was really friendly and...helpful. Will definitely be back anytime we’re in Culross again.More

My friend and I were walking in Culross and decided to go into Red Lion for a bite to eat. We both ordered small battered haddock and couldn’t believe the size of it. It wouldn’t have been enough for a child! It was a small...piece of haddock sliced into 2 portions and my friend and I got a half each. If we ever go back we will know never to order this again. It was a complete ripoff!More
