My husband I ordered the chicken in creamy garlic sauce with fresh mushrooms. Didn't see one mushroom......and to our surprise, no veg or salad came with it (except cress... More

Visited on a Sunday lunch time after a walk around cod beck. We found this pub pleasant with friendly staff. The menu was filled with a variety of different meals and serving sizes were generous. As well as fairly priced. I strongly recommend a visit.

We booked a table for a family meal on Sunday evening, we enjoyed the meal so much in the future we'll probably come back on one of the nights they do the steak on the stone thing. I ordered the pork belly, and the rest of the family ordered steaks. When my brother's steak arrived it was slightly more cooked... More

Stopped off here on the way back to York as we were in need of sustenance, I'm so glad we did. A gorgeous building with lots of oak beams and real log fires. We were greeted by the landlady who was in the process of opening up, 6pm, and she immediately made us feel at ease. Even though things weren't... More

Visited last Friday evening. Five of us had starters mains and drinks. Three of us had the sirloin steak cooked on the stone . Sarah cooked these to perfection. We all enjoyed our meal and look forward to going back next time we are down from Edinburgh. Good service and reasonable prices. Recommended
