Arrived here after a very poor experience at the other tea room in Eyam with a lost order. Ordered food and drink, waited 20 mins, no food or drink came out yet others had been served when arriving after us. Called over waitress who went in to check. The young man who took the order came out and apologised that the order had been missed. He immediately offered a full refund and assured us that the food and drink would still be sorted. Sure enough, within 10 mins our food and drink arrived. The food was delicious and we enjoyed our drink. We decided to have a pudding to share and requested that we leave the food payment stand and have the pudding for free as it was cheaper. He then added ice cream to the pudding and gave us a tray bake, all for free. The pudding was also fantastic. He once again checked that we were happy with the service. Considering our poor experience at the previous tea room this was the polar opposite. The excellent customer service received following our lost order turned the situation around for us, We will definitely visit the Village Green again when we are in the area.

Visited here at lunchtime in July. Queued up outside to order and then collected food from a hatch outside, staff were very friendly. I had the focaccia toastie with roasted veg, chilli jam and cheese. I did have to wait longer than I expected, but it was worth it, delicious food. Definitely recommend.

Words cannot describe how amazing this place is. The focaccia sandwich was incredible. It was vegan. We are not vegan, it just looked lush on the menu and was indeed super delicious. The tea cake was offered with cheddar and it took me over half an hour to eat it. That big, plus I did not want it to end. It was so delicious, moist and fruity. All the cakes looked divine. The service was also out of this world great. Please don't all rush there.... save me a table and some cake.

We called in on a Sunday lunchtime and were lucky to find an outside table. We had already visited here a while ago so we knew we were on for a winner. We ordered 2 x Focaccia sandwiches & a quiche all were served with a lovely salad, slaw & delicious rice. Husband & daughter ordered a pot of tea & I ordered a flat white, delicious smooth coffee. The staff were very friendly & helpful the young lad that served us fussed over our dog & gave him treats which was very kind of him. Next time we hope to save room for a cake. Cracking little cafe that don’t serve ‘run of the mill’ food....very healthy, tasty & different food. Toilet is very clean which is always a good sign in my book. Call in here & you will not be disappointed.

A must stop for anyone visiting or passing through Eyam village! An absolutely delightful place for any meal or takeaway. Every dish was delicious and served with the utmost attention to detail and in the kindest, professional and welcoming manner. The front of house young gentleman has lovely and friendly. We booked a table for breakfast and were absolutely spoilt for choice from their menu. We had the poached eggs with avocado on toast, spinach & feta pie and almond croissant - all very delicious! And ended up ordering food to take away also. Will definitely be back!

Stopped here with dad & Alfie the dog for a coffee to warm us on a cold November day but ended up having food & cake & another coffee, taking food to go & buying a gift!! Coffee amazing! Cheese & Onion pies best ever tasted! Scone - delicious but wait . . . . Carrot cake - simply out of this world!! Seriously not kidding!! All baked on premises! Frosting as smooth as silk. Don’t pass this cafe by - we loved it! 😍😍

Excellent coffee. I had the hallumi lettuce and tomato on a beautiful white ciabatta roll - delicious - garnish of slaw, leaves and a rice salad a delightful addition. Highly recommend. Husband had the chorizo focaccia which he said was delicious

Three pensioners enjoyed the scrummiest of cherry and almond scones and orange and almond cake with the most tasty of cappuccinos and lemon and ginger tea. Outstanding, professional and kind service from Louie and his delightful lady helper. Super display of cards and gifts. Was tempted. Relaxed friendly and attentive service. A family enterprise. Full of love and kindness. And top catering skills. The lady of the house can bake!! Can’t wait to visit and enjoy the delicious looking lunch time menu which we just missed out on.

We really enjoyed our coffee stop in this stylish, contemporary cafe, which also displays lots of very appealing products for sale. The menu looked very tempting, including lots of plant-based and alternative diet choices, which is so great to see. We will definitely return for lunch one day soon! Also very good safeguarding measures in place.

Genuinely this is what local small businesses should be. A small place in a lovely little village that is worthy of your attention. We had the Teacake, avo on toast (no eggs), French Toast, orange juice and a couple of flat whites. On entering the premise we were asked to sit at a table for two, a perfectly respectable request bearing in mind there were two of us and a dog. We then had some friendly local service and sat back to enjoy some excellent food. My wife relly enjoyed the French toast with the only complaint that it was quite big. The Teacake was big but really light, one of the nicest I have had. The avo on toast was excellent, there is a common trend of making the sour dough hard which they did here which I am not a huge fan of but the avo was fresh, as were the tomatoes and I think a hint of cumin and sesame. Really was great. The coffee was excellent so much so I took 1kg home. It was a medium roast speciality coffee and I could taste the nuts and chocolate. The guy behind the counter clearly knows his coffee as before buying he was checking what we ran at home to make sure we bought the right stuff. He also has a Mythos One or might be a Two behind the counter which is a four figure grinder which shows you they are serious about their coffee. Overall this is exactly what a small local business should be. Small menu producing excellent food and drink. If we lived local we would be here every week but a 3hr drive is a little too extreme.

I really did have the best sandwich of my life yesterday, at the Village Green cafe. To be specific, it was the ham, smoked cheddar, spinach and apricot ginger chutney, served on house toasted sourdough and served with house slaw. It was incredible! Served nice and hot, with the cheese slightly molten, beautiful quality ham, a nice extra flavour, colour and texture from the spinach - and the chutney really being the icing on the cake. For perspective, I’m 49 and this sarnie beats the previous best ever sandwich which was a legendary jarlsberg and pastrami sandwich from a deli in Nottingham in 2001. My wife’s spinach and feta filo tart was also a belter. The cafe itself is a delight, and the staff super helpful, even digging out some plasters for my daughter who had had a fall. We’ll done and thank you!

High prise indeed, and what might you ask are my credentials for assessing scone quality? ... Well I have cycled and walked around the Peak District for the last 30 years and have sampled many hundreds ( possibly thousands) of cream teas in that time. As such I know a good scone when I see one and the Eyam Village Green is the best - soft, moist yet light, fruit packed scones to die for, accompanied with raspberry jam and clotted cream. Throw in an expertly made Flat White and you're transported to cake heaven. The tea room is a gem and well worth a visit when cycling or walking though Eyam. Trust me I know Scones.

Went today, was takeout only as short staffed, but wonderful polite staff who apologised for the wait even though we weren't bothered in the slightest, First best coffee I have had in a long while..we shared a variety of savouries and cakes, frittata and spinach pie were delicious, the spinach pie on par with some of the best I've had in Greece. I can't remember all the cakes , but one was whiskey fruit cake and delicious and an orange and pistachio with rose petals. The most perfect cake I have ever tasted, the young server's were attentive without being pushy. Thank you so much for a wonderful lunch break in the glorious peak sunshine.
