Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

My husband and I visited the Village Green today after a very wet walk around the local area with our two very soggy dogs. The welcome from the staff could not have been warmer. We were offered a hot drink very quickly, and the coffee...was great. My husband had the toastie/soup and I ordered a savoury tart (quiche) with salad. The food was beautiful, with really lovely salad and homemade coleslaw too. The service from the staff was the best we have experienced during this trip to the Peak District, and the dogs enjoyed their treats too. The cafe also sells gifts and cards from local small business which was a nice touch.More

Cannot recommend this cafe highly enough. The staff are most polite and friendly and the cakes / sandwiches / soap / coffee is fantastico. Now we live in the area we won’t use the cafe across the road as it is that good. If you...want the best ever carrot cake one tip….pre order. See you soon 👍More

Wow! This place really knows how to make amazing coffee and the home made scones were the best I've had. We had a cherry and almond scone and fruit and vanilla one and they were mouthwatering. The service was friendly, attentive and tables were spotlessly...clean. A beautiful place to sit outside and watch the world go by in this lovely village.More

Went today, was takeout only as short staffed, but wonderful polite staff who apologised for the wait even though we weren't bothered in the slightest, First best coffee I have had in a long while..we shared a variety of savouries and cakes, frittata and spinach...pie were delicious, the spinach pie on par with some of the best I've had in Greece. I can't remember all the cakes , but one was whiskey fruit cake and delicious and an orange and pistachio with rose petals. The most perfect cake I have ever tasted, the young server's were attentive without being pushy. Thank you so much for a wonderful lunch break in the glorious peak sunshine.More

Surprised by a great coffee, and really enjoyed our lunch. My husband had a toastie and I had a vegetarian tart. Both were excellent accompanied by a range of tasty fresh salads. My husband loved the chutney too. The staff did everything to accommodate us...even though it was a very busy time. Well done, we'll return soon!More

We had excellent coffee and first class cherry and almond scones, fresh baked on the premises. Cannot recommend highly enough and we will be returning soon to try the other cakes and pastries which look just as delicious. Worth driving 100 miles or more to...enjoy. Friendly service and great location. Enjoy!More
