After months of talking about visiting Stellas, we finally booked a space at the saturday night buffet. We didnt know what to expect, and all we knew was that the photos of food online looked amazing. We arrived to our table and there were some drinks already set up for us. Stella came out with starters straight away. This is not like a normal buffet, Stella makes you 2 starters, then you get a plate of everything for your main meal and then a pudding. There is no 'choice' as such. I actually really liked this because you will try things that you wouldn't usually choose, eg I am not a fan of peanuts, but one of the dishes was a satay style dish. I tried it, and it was actually really nice - i would never choose a satay dish. Stella serves you your main meal in her kitchen, she invites you in a table at a time and plates it up for you. We were all told that because she wasnt fully booked we could have seconds and thirds, 'You can keep going until its gone!' She was happy to discuss the food, and told us what everything was. The goat curry was amazing! The pudding was a home made ginger cake and some ice cream - absolutely fantastic. All in all, for £30 per person, it was very good value for the quality and volume of food that you get. Stella doesnt have a licence, so she allows you to bring your own booze, which is a nice touch. You are in Stellas conservatory, so you are in her home. Expect to see her grandchildren (her 5 year old grandaughter was chatting to the diners) and her husband, coming in and out. We really loved this, it made for a very relaxed atmosphere. We will visit again, without question. 5 Star!!!

Our friends booked speculatively, having heard that its reputation and managed to get in on a cancellation as we understand there is normally a two week or longer waiting list. We had seen it on a TV cookery show. It was really interesting and a great find. A set meal with non-alcoholic cocktail and water: in this case a served starter and sweet, but a buffet main. A choice of three curries ( or some of each in our case) rice and fried plantain. All full of flavour, very well cooked, nicely presented and an opportunity for a second helping all at a fixed price. The seating is within a heated conservatory with a few additional seats in the kitchen. Probably 20 covers maximum. There is no licence but you can bring your own alcohol. The hosts were very welcoming and friendly and we would certainly visit regularly if we did not live 200 miles away. It is in a farm in an isolated location, so could easily be missed if you are not very observant. Well worth the visit.

Wow! What an amazing find. Come and eat with Stella, in her conservatory, with her stunning food. Cameroon specialities, authentically cooked and served and the best bit, Stella comes and chats with you too. Can’t recommend highly enough.

We were disappointed but sounds like it may be better if you eat in, we had a catering type service at £35 a head. It was delivered late, the starters were cold and lacking in quantity and flavour. The only side dish provided was rice and dumplings, no plantain or anything interesting. The mains were all very greasy and the fish curry extremely fishy and unpleasant. It had been ordered for a large group and when we needed to reduce the group size by one, 3 days prior to the date, this couldn’t be accommodated. This seemed pretty inflexible when you’re spending over £600 and you can be sure they would have happily accepted an additional order request! To top it off we were then required to return the dishes the following day, half an hour drive in the opposite direction to home. Overall very unimpressed and felt it was not worth the money spent at all.

Superb food and great evening at Stella's kitchen ! The conservatory was warm and cosy on a day when it was minus 10 outside! Log burner was roaring away. The welcome and service was brilliant ! We had a set meal which was 2 vegetarian starters - beignetes with herbs and a fiery hot home made sauce and sweet chilli sauce. Generous portions of mutton curry, pork and spinach curry both tender and delicious. Beans in a sauce, coconut rice and fried plantains. Mango juice to drink. Dessert was a pineapple crumble and all really delightful. Patrick gave me tips on lighting a log burner and some starter logs which worked brilliantly. So kind❤️ I highly recommend and will return.

We booked ahead and were welcomed in by both friendly staff and guests! It is a small dining space, with a log burner and a great atmosphere. As a party of 4 celebrating ’pop up Christmas’! , we were invited to hang our small Caribbean influenced decorations and we pulled our Christmas crackers in December. We shared one fish platter with fried plantain to start and we each had a curry and shared two puddings. The hot sauce is hot and delicious 😋 All of the food was good and we had a fabulous time. The amount was plentiful and the right size for the occasion. A sharing platter between two would make it lovely lunch if you were just passing. Do plan ahead though and allow a little time for Stella to work and to enjoy the atmosphere. While we were there Stella was presented with the Trip Advisor Travellers’ Choice which was lovely to see - although she now has a rating of 5 so she can fill in that last bit of green! Well done Stella and thank you so much 😊

We really enjoyed our sharing meat platter, tasty tender pork and chicken served with spinach and rice. I would recommend that you save room for Stellas cakes. The ginger cake is so light moisty and delicious.

Managed to get a last minute booking to the Saturday evening buffet. We walked there from Eyam (15/20 min walk at the most, mainly on pavement) Had a torch for the walk back, but not a problem. So you can easily get there without your car! The place is "no frills" but incredibly relaxed, informal and friendly. Like having a meal at your friend's house! The food was delicious and it's fun not knowing what is going to be served. I had requested only a few days before that I needed gluten free and vegetarian food - this was not a problem to Stella and she took great care in cooking something delicious for me. We could have helped ourselves to seconds, but had to leave space for pudding. It was also lovely to chat with other members of Stella's family and her grand-daughter is a real character! The food was excellent and very good value - give it a try!

Battled through the snow on a cold Saturday evening and Stella’s was absolutely worth the effort. We sat in the lovely warm conservatory, next to the log stove which was very welcome in the cold. Stella welcomed us warmly and served us fruit punch. We then shared starters of okra balls and fish balls, with an array of chilli sauces. One of which was particularly potent! The mains were served by Stella in her kitchen which was a really nice, informal touch. The night we visited we had a set menu of jollof type rice, pumpkin seed fish soup, mutton curry and 3 bean stew. All of them were amazing. I even broke my ‘no meat’ rule and tried some of the sauce from the mutton, which was worth the rule breaking. All the dishes were rich, full of flavour and very moorish. They were exactly what was needed on a cold, snowy evening. The fish soup was my favourite, and was more like a curry than what’s known as a soup in the UK. In fact it was so good, I went back for seconds, which Stella readily encouraged. Although I think my eyes were a bit bigger than my belly. Great value for money. Lovely atmosphere. Amazing tastes in a surprising place. Would definitely recommend making the trip and seeking out Stella!

What a wonderful, different, quirky & magical experience. The food was amazing, the atmosphere lovely. Stella was a wonderful host. She cooks the food from fresh and serves it to you (in her conservatory) directly from her own kitchen which makes it feel homely. The food is prepared in a commercial kitchen (on site) which is visible from the conservatory. The family all get involved and are so friendly. The food was delicious, a 3 course set meal for £25 and a free glass of delicious juice. I really really can’t wait to go back.

A wonderful and completely serendipitous find, a jewel along our way. I’m so glad we decided to investigate the bright yellow signs, Stella’s filled our bellies, warmed our cockles and lifted our spirits. Really lovely home cooked curries, fresh and vibrant. With the cakes and punch it’s easy to see why this place is so well regarded. Thankyou Stella, that was stellar!

We had a lovely experience & meal at Stella’s Kitchen. The atmosphere was very friendly & the food delicious! We had the vegetarian platter and goat curry - the bean balls had run out so we were offered and had fried courgette balls which were truly delicious. The platter was a great idea to get a taste of everything - there was also a meat and fish version. We also loved the Beignet balls as a side and would recommend the fruit punch. It’s easy to walk to from Eyam (about 20 minutes) so would definitely recommend checking out if you’re in the area!

We knew about Stella's Kitchen from its appearance on The Hairy Bikers Go North. Stella seemed a lovely person and we like to try unfamiliar did. Stella is a really lovely person and her food is delicious. She served one of the best chicken curries I ever tasted. The atmosphere is informal, service is laid-back and Stella's hot chilli sauce lives up to its name.

Read the reviews and was intreagued. Never tried carribean food so thought we'd give it a try while staying in the area. Easy to find. We went on a buffet evening. Relaxed atmosphere. The food was tasty (not as spicy as we'd expected) but not worth the £25 per head in our opinion and you're basically eating in a conservatory which wasn't what we expected. Stella was a good host and quite chatty which was nice. Its unlicensed but you can bring your own booze if you want. It was a good experience and we're glad we tried something new and different but we wouldn't return.

If I could visit every day I would! Take away, lunch, and Sunday roast all so beautifully prepared, food filled with soul and love. The whole experience, whether you are collecting a takeaway or spending time eating at Stella's Kitchen is a joyful one and you leave feeling a better and brighter person. Puff Puffs are a must, beautifully light and dipped in sweet chilli sauce just ignites the tastebuds. My favourite? Sanga, vegetarian with corn and spinach and a rich base which is comforting and with such clean, fresh, flavours which are the key elements to all the dishes. You must visit. Stella's Kitchen is the jewel of the Peak District and not to be missed.
