We went here with another party of 4 for lunch in January. Bonus #1 THEY ARE OPEN! ... pretty hard to find a good place for lunch in the off season. The group ordered 2 pork chops, mixed fried vegetables, a stewed meat plate, and salad. Everything was perfect. The salad is like a cabbage slaw that was large enough... More

Excellent home cooked food, large portions. Warm atmosphere in summer and winter. Armenni is about five minutes drive from Kalyves and 30 minutes east of Chania, just off the main National Road.

Everything is fresh homemade with local ingredients. Service is customer oriented and helped us order (trying to protect us from ordering to many courses...instead of trying to upsell). Fries, tzatziki, dakos, fried vegetables, two main courses, one salad, wine for 37,5€

Had Sunday lunch here with many locals. The restaurant is in three parts: inside the building, a terrace by the road and an outdoor area under a huge walnut tree. We opted for the latter. There must have been hundreds of people dining there that afternoon , mostly it seemed in extended families sitting at long tables, creating a happy... More

The Cretan salad , small portion, is huge and delicious, enough for 2 or more to share. Lamb chops... Mmmmm delicious too. Not too keen on the beef stifado, have had more flavoursome even in the UK, but huge volume of meat. Great service, and the little complimentary deserts served with the Raki, just perfect. Would visit again and again....... More

The food was very good, in abundance, the only issue was that some of the dishes requested were not available. The lamb chops were delicious, the house burger was enormous, filled and covered with cheese. The setting was pleasant.

All I can say is share with someone. The Greek salad was as big as a fruit bowl. Four of us shared a mixed grill for two, with left overs. Chips flowed off the plates to waiting cats, the Tzanziki was bottomless and the pork chop my son ordered came from no ordinary pig. Amazingly the octopus, which was grilled... More

Usually when you find a restaurant that serves rich and large portions (of great value as well), you are prepared that maybe you'll have to give up some taste or quality. This is definitely NOT the case with Drosostalia. Not only everything is great, well-prepared, first quality and tasteful, the portions are so big that you'll find yourself at the... More

Does get very busy so there may be a delay, but service is friendly and good. Portions are often enough for two (normal) people, particularly the salads. Nice cool place surrounded by water fountains. Reasonable prices and good traditional food.
