Visited here for the first time one Sunday afternoon with my partner. We were in the area for the new garden centre (Blue Diamond, 1.5 miles away) and fancied something for lunch. We hadn't made a reservation but still managed to get a table for...More

Sadly, great expectations but very average. Pork loin was fatty. Black pudding over cooked with a crispy base. Fish served swimming in oil.

We met some friends who are locals for food and to watch the footie. Pub was very busy with regulars and everyone very friendly. Menu was varied and had some really nice different options than the usual pub menus. We had a variety of tapas...More

This Pub is run by the Daughter (& her Husband) of an old friend of mine that sadly passed away in 2018. Before you start accusing me of favouritism and sentimentality she did not even know I was there for this visit. I'll be concise...More

Normally pub meals at Christmas are hit and miss - mostly miss. However we did not have to pre-order - a good sign. As well as the obvious turkey there were also unusual items including venison stew. The deserts were of high quality and the...More

Thank you for the glowing review! Our chefs work really hard to keep our menus both interesting and appealing, it's lovely to hear that was so well received. Especially our desserts- something we're really proud of! Look forward to welcoming you back soon. Kindest Regards...More

Popped in, looked fairly busy in both the Bar and Restaurant. So didn't hold out much hope for a table, but they were all very accomodating. It was well worth it, great ales to choose from and a fine Christmas Menu. Definitely well worth a...More

I can’t believe that the place was so busy as it smelt so strongly of stale urine - smelt like a giant urinal. Looks lovely but the smell makes you want to heave. Couldn’t stay for dinner. Needs new carpets or something to get rid...More

Came with the kids for a Xmas meal, staff were welcoming, food was great. Even gave kids paper plates and crayons. Girl with long dark hair and posh accent gave great service. Nice busy restaurant too.

When we first went in to look around, the room was lovely - the set out was to be a buffet table on one side and a mixture of the side booths and dotted tables around for people to sit - rather than being stuck...More

Thank you for the review. We have discussed this at length by email. I do not wish to distress you further at this difficult time but feel I must defend our side of the story. Due to the seating being built in, there aren't many...More
