Visited this Chinese a few times not but usually on quieter night. This time we went on a Saturday. The place was heaving already at 7pm, I think they turn the tables a few times, still there was no let up in service nor did we feel rushed. Nice to see the owners at work and taking charge in the restaurant whilst pulling their weight.
All the food we ordered came hot and steaming. I was slightly disappointed my sizzling dish didn’t o come sizzling but it was still very hot. Loved the ribs I had to start.
Despite there being a lot of largish tables being served you didn’t feel forgotten about mad we love the addition of the pianist who plays really well
We will continue to make this our number one stop for Chinese.

Lovely place! The food was really good, huge range of cocktails too! I liked the added bonus of the descriptions of food and drink on the menu.
Staff were very attentive and friendly. There was a talented pianist playing while we dined which added to the atmosphere. Love the decor too. Would definitely visit again. Food portions are quite large so would be better to go in a larger group (we ordered too much!) but we were surprised when the bill came (in a quirky little wooden box which I loved) as we expected it to cost much more than it did.
Would definitely visit again.

A warm welcome, great ambience, attentive service, lovely fresh tasting food (no gloopy sauces) and surprisingly inexpensive. Well worth our drive from Nottingham - and no concerns about the distancing etc. David and Sue Nottingham

This great restaurant has been a favourite of mine since I was a child and still is my absolute favourite place because of the wonderful food and people.
The aubergines in black bean sauce ❤️❤️❤️❤️, duck, tempura prawns....in fact everything is delicious!
Nigel and Pok U are caring and inspiring people who want to make every visit special, they go above and beyond for their customers and their community and it feels like visiting friends whenever we visit.
Fantastic restaurant for a date night, family meal, dinner and cocktails with friends and even just a lovely casual dinner.
We have loved every visit here and can’t wait for the next one wether that be in the restaurant or takeaway ❤️
Thanks Nigel and Pok U for such a wonderful restaurant and part of the vale of belvoir community.

I went with family, we were allowed 1 starter & 1 main off a very limited menu. Menu said £16 each but was charged £8 due to the "Eat out to help out" scheme. Wasn't worth £8. I have eaten here several times, whereby you can choose freely from the menu, obviously you pay more. What disgusted me was that they are claiming £10 back from the government, so basically saying that the meal was £18.... Rip off! Would never go again

Hello Elvis4paws,
I'm sorry and a little confused that you feel this way, really. We genuinely think that £16 for a two course meal with fresh donuts and ice cream is good value. There are 10 starters to choose from and 19 main courses plus rice or chips.
The government subsidy is 50%, so we receive £8 from the customer and £8 from the Government. I think your misunderstanding or miscalculation of the offer has perhaps led you to believe that this is not great value. Given that ribs are £7 and a main course alone is £8 - £10 in the restaurant this seems good value to us.
Here's the menu so that anyone reading this can draw their own conclusion.
Complimentary prawn crackers with sweet chilli sauce
Starter:
Peking Spare Ribs
Salt & Pepper Spare Ribs
Breaded prawns
Sesame prawn toast
Veg Spring Rolls
Duck Spring Rolls
Chicken Skewers in Satay Sauce
Salt & Pepper Sweetcorn
Salt & Pepper Mushrooms
Sweet & Sour Chicken wan tuns
Quarter duck (+£5)
Main courses
Sweet & Sour Chicken, Pork or Tofu
Black Bean Chicken, Beef of Aubergine
Ginger & Spring Onion; chicken, beef or king prawns
Chicken in Lemon sauce
Satay: Chicken, King Prawns or Mixed vegetables
Chilli & Garlic: Chicken, King Prawns or Aubergine
Crispy Chilli Beef
Eight treasures vegetables
Mange tout with Cashew Nuts
Plus, of course, egg fried rice, boiled rice or chips.
Dessert is unlimited ice cream with toppings and fresh donuts made in the marquee.
If you were hungry or wanted something that wasn't on the menu, just ask us, feeding people is what we love to do for a living, we would have been very happy to feed you some more.
You say that you have visited many time and , however, this is the first time you have written a review. Seems pretty unfair to share your negative experience but not the positive, especially as you have made an error with your calculations. Perhaps you will edit your review to make the correction, let's see?
With warmth and kindness,
Nigel

Very disappointing visit. We booked a table for Sunday evening. It was very noisy with large groups on nearby tables. At no point during booking or after asking for the Al a Carte menu were we told on a Sunday the priority is an all you can eat menu.
We ordered 2 starters, 1 of which we were told was off the menu. So we chose a different option. Both were delicious.
We were then informed that of the 3 mains we ordered 2 were unavailable.
Due to the noise and drunken antics of the next table we decided not to re-order and asked for the bill. A very polite owner/manager came over and explained that on a Sunday they don’t have everything on the menu as the chef hasn’t prepared all the dishes. We paid for everything we ordered and left.
Long story short don’t go on a Sunday if you want the full menu.

We had a fantastic experience at Yeung Sing yesterday evening. The food was delicious and the overall experience was lovely, staff were attentive and it felt like everyone really cared about our evening as a whole.
The two reasons for providing 4 stars and not 5 were the salt and pepper chips which had very little spice and were clearly double/triple fried. After the authentic duck, appetisers and mains it slightly tainted the experience. The prices on the website also differ from the prices within the restaurant which would be a concern if you had come with a budget.

Like another recent reviewer, Sunday is not the day to visit to see the restaurant at its best.
Appetisers were ok (but rather greasy), nice and hot, but they arrived before our drinks had!
The main of crispy beef was very disappointing…all crisp and no beef. Inedible. We advised the waitress but she didn’t say anything. Have to say the sweet and sour prawns were good.
We had room for pudding … my first choice of chocolate fudge cake which was gluten free, had run out, the next choice had also run out. There was Noy two choices left none of which was gluten free so one of us had to do without.
The restaurant was very noisy, largely with tables of children (although they were well behaved).
Really had problems getting the attention of the waiter/waitress.

When we arrived we were very impressed by the decor and ambience. The waiting staff were very attentive and helpful. Cocktails were very nice and the menu looked appetising. We ordered the duck starter which was shredded at the side of the table. We had just started to eat our mains when I started to feel faint with a rapid heartbeat and realised to my horror that they must be using MSG (monosodium glutamate) in the food, checked with the waitress and she confirmed they use it in all dishes. She made sure I was provided with water and offered to cook something without msg, but anyone who has an allergy knows this is the last thing you want. I would advise that if you have a sensitivity to MSG to ask for it cooked without or, which I think would be best, the restaurant state that they use it in their cooking on either their website or menu, but preferably both.

Now… before I start I need to clarify the restaurant was busy with Christmas groups, however… this shouldn’t and isn’t an excuse…. We had a table for 2 booked for 7pm… it was my birthday, we were shown to our table at 7.35… we ordered and this is where it went down hill… 2 starters, one turned up and we waited 40 minutes for the second after asking… we knew this was the the shape of things to come… the starters were not great, they actually used HP sauce… it was shocking, we quickly cancelled our meal as 1. We didn’t want to wait another hour for food, and 2. This wasn’t going to be as nice as we imagined… the owner was extremely apologetic, and we can’t fault the service, it was just too busy because of group bookings but they should have said this… that’s where my annoyance comes from… over an hour and a half and we received very little apart from an apology, we were still charged £27 for the drinks and a starter… but wow, the service was shocking and the use of HP sauce is unforgivable… I know your are busy but please… this was the first time of booking and it was my birthday… but thanks… but no thanks…. I expected more… customer service is my forte and this wasn’t it… ah well… a spoilt birthday meal… you should ALWAYS let your customers know things will be slow, and you should NOT serve food with HP sauce from a bottle… please don’t try and defend this… I eat enough to know!
Thanks for nothing and £27 lighter… birthday boy

Good morning,
I'm sorry to read this and for the service you experienced.
You are absolutely right to complain. It was probably the worst experience we have offered for a couple of years and is clearly very unusual.
I know why this happened but firstly let me clarify a couple of points.
We don't serve HP sauce in the restaurant, you may have seen bottles on a trolley but these are used for the hotel breakfast. I can't imagine someone put one of these bottles on your table. The sauce is a duck sauce which contains five spices, star anise, brown sugar, garlic and more, we make it fresh each week.
The problem was not a consequence of being busy but I can understand why this perception can be arrived at. It was one of our busiest nights but we served tables of 20 & 25 with relative ease. Service on your table could have been perfect.
The problem we had started on Friday. We had a catastrophic failure of the main hard drive on our main till, it was partially fixed for Friday and 90% for Saturday. As a result, the kitchen did not receive your full order when entered into the till. It translates into Chinese characters so this is critical.
I know this does not fix your experience which we are deeply sorry for, but I hope it goes some way to explaining.how this happened.
As you can see from the previous reviews that these are more typical of an experience at the Yeung Sing.

I was staying at the hotel the Yeung Sing Restaurant is in and although there are lots of places in Bingham to eat, thought I would try out this restaurant as the decor was bright and inviting, the menu looked interesting and I only wanted a light meal, and they had 'bar meal' options which was perfect.
The staff were all very friendly and I was made to feel welcome, which when you are dining on your own is important. The chicken satay meal was delicious, great portion size and good value and being able to listen to someone playing the piano was an pleasant added bonus. Would definitely eat there again if in the area.

Good as usual very good and service mostly efficient although the waitress forgot to put in our second round of drinks until another member of staff spotted.
Food arrived in a perfect amount of time.
But please don’t penalise the driver by charging exorbitant prices for soft drinks.
2 large orange juice and lemonade were charged £ 10.80 just too much. It’s more expensive than beer! They were also differently priced 1 was 2 lemonades and an orange, the other 2 orange juices and 1 lemonade

Numbers eating increased the day before but restaurant were kind to accommodate this. On the evening of the meal despite the group delaying when they came to the table, again the restaurant did not complain. Meal was excellent and prices worked out at £17.50 each , £20 with tip. Plenty of food, all hot, various tastes ie some spicy some not. Plenty of everything for our party.
Excellent value for money. Staff attentive but not pushy.

First time going to Yeung Sing - we'd heard great things about it from friends and it certainly didn't disappoint. It's a warm, welcoming and beautifully decorated restaurant and the staff are friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic, perfectly cooked and presented and was hot (hate it when food arrives to the table luke warm). The only small issue was that we had to wait quite a long time for a desert to come, but the restaurant was very busy with two large parties having arrived just at that point - it really didn't spoil what was a lovely evening there and we'll definitely return.

An excellent choice for a marvelous evening.
The hospitality provided by the hosts and their little trainee was much appreciated . The overall service was really good . The food was exceptional apart from the ribs a little disappointing , it didn't really matter because of the highest standards of everything else .
The pianist added and provided a rather pleasant entertainment .
My wife has mobility problems and Nigel was most helpful when we arrived and brought the car to the door to help when we left .
This restaurant is superb and deserves a visit from anyone who appreciates , good food and service in a beautiful environment.
Last visit 1984 ! Cannot wait to go again hopefully in weeks , not years..
Thanks Ian .
