Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The food is fantastic and definitely no complaints. The restaurant could do with a deep clean. Table legs very dirty and table tops so sticky the cutlery needed prising off. Also witnessed waitress cleaning a table, dropping fork on floor and replacing on table. Not...what you want to see! Such a shame as we had a lovely welcome and gorgeous lunch.More

Having been recommended to visit this Pub by friends we did so today for Sunday lunch. Very busy which is a good sign and great ambiance. Lovely log fire and very friendly staff. Food was excellent. Roasts at £15.95 and small plates available. Lots of...nice veg as well as nicely cooked meats. Thoroughly recommended and we will definitely be back as their mid week menus look great as well.More

Driven past this pub a million times. Stopped once 30 years ago. What a mistake. This has to be Bedfordshire's greatest secret. A man-sized Steak and Cheese pie brought me to a tummy busting standstill. My wife disappeared under a welter of Cajun Salmon. My...treacle sponge brought tears of nostalgia to my eyes, while her toffee sponge was a mountain of taste. And the custard... ? A simply stunning lunch served by the most cheerful, professional staff. Make no mistake, we'll be back. Thank you for everything, guysMore

Second time having lunch here today. The food was fantastic and great value. I had the posh fish finger sandwich which was really tasty. The staff are great too, polite, engaging and clearly passionate about their work.

Absolutely superb Afternoon Tea, fresh sandwiches- loved the home cooked ham! The scones were melt in the mouth - wide range of cakes and a trifle shot - definitely Sherry! Gorgeous chocolate dipped strawberries

When the management didn't respond to the reported incident, the regulars took their business elsewhere, where the staff are always friendly and welcoming and where you can drink a decent pint of real Guiness!
