Had a very enjoyable time here with my partner, a lovely evening meal which both me and my partner thoroughly enjoyed. Our servers Jasmine and Maria deserve a special mention for their hard work and great service.

Great local pub, good food, good service. Offers a good varied menu as well as a good selection of sandwiches. You can’t go wrong if you want to get out for lunch.
The Railway Inn should be applauded for putting a menu together that offers such great value (£16 for 2 or £20 for 3 courses) in an otherwise expensive area of Norfolk but unfortunately, despite the friendly service, we found the food a bit disappointing in...terms of flavour and quantity. The mussels came with a bland cream sauce, couldn't taste anything of the sauce. The duck came with two and a half new potatoes. The chicken liver and black pudding starter was smothered in salad dressing and was over powered as a consequence. We skipped the desserts.More
Visited the Railway Inn as part of our extended Restaurant Week itinery.....what a delight! Attractive menu which delivered as described and more. The flavours throughout were balanced and the well proportioned servings were beautifully seasoned and cooked. The pork belly dish for example was tender...with the delicate flavours of apple and sage amongst others against a backdrop of seasonal root vegetables with a flavoursome sauce, goes some way to explaining why the Railway Inn gets our highest recommendation. Thank you Caroline and the waiting staff for a lovely service and ....we will be back!More
We all enjoyed a really delicious and well presented 2 course meal ( unfortunately no room for dessert). Friendly, cheerful staff. A very enjoyable evening.
We were staying in Docking for a few days and had both dinner one night and lunch the next day with friends. Both occasions were good, very friendly and good value food, Also want to say thank you to Caroline for organising fish and chips...for Stephen.More
A lovely experience with a warm welcome. This was our first visit to The Railway Inn and chosen as a place in North Norfolk restuarant week. We were not disappointed. A most welcoming place and a delicious fayre.
What a great find! Great menu for Norfolk Restaurant week. Hard to choose as all the food sounded wonderful but we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The flavours were really delicious. Nice size portions. Service attentive but not intrusive. We sat in the conservatory which was...lovely and warm on a chilly evening. Highly recommended!More
Went as part of Norfolk Restaurant Week. Excellent menu, great food and really good service. Apparently they are continuing through November - well worth a visit.
Just moved to the area and friends told us about the Railway Inn - just rung to say thank you as it was yummy, had a great atmosphere and gave me the chance to show my sons how pool is properly played!
Again our first choice for Restaurant Week and excellent food, service and staff. As a table we had mussels, liver, salad, duck, salmon, lemon posset, cheesecake and crumble to name a few 😍
Ist Day Norfolk Restaurant Week...best menu quality and value. Friendly atmosphere & service. Chicken liver black pudding my favourite starter ..excellent duck....best Brancaster mussels & puds. We shall return...well done and thank you. CJB & friends.
We were staying in this lovely village for a week and having read the reviews, we decided we go there on our first evening. We were herded into a corner of the conservatory and awaited the menus. After 10 minutes still no menus, so I...went to ask and after another 5 minutes still nothing. A staff member came through and I asked again, eventually some tatty pieces of paper were left on our table and we realised theses were the menus. We had to ask to place an order for drinks and then each time the same staff member came through, she would literally shout across to see if our drinks had arrived yet. Same happened with ordering food. The conservatory area was very dirty, with cobwebs and dead flies in the corners and a layer of dust across the windowsills and heaters. When our meals finally arrived they were average at best, and did not match the hefty bill that arrived very promptly after eating. Maybe we caught this place on a bad evening, but I certainly wouldn't return or recommend.More

This pub never fails to deliver on good pub food with a good variety and a selection of beers. Relaxed and comfortable environment and really a great place whether in the summer time and sit outside or cosy inside in the winter. We always come...here at least once during our stays!More
