Went on a Friday lunchtime in January and the place was packed. Friendly welcome and service, and good ambience. We reckoned that the burgers were the star buy as many people at the surrounding tables were eating them, and they were good but not brilliant....The seafood linguini was not so good - very bland. OK but wouldn't rush back.More

New Year’s Eve dinner - excellent food, great service and lovely atmosphere. Small enough to feel initiate and cosy. We had fresh mussels caught in the bay as a starter, which were gorgeous! Then the sea bream special, which was delicious. Highly recommended for good...food and great service. Oh and they do great cocktails too!!More

Three of us went to look at the Christmas lights at the maritime museum and grab a late lunch. Popped into The Boathouse for the first time and very pleasantly surprised. A warm welcome despite not booking in advance. The menu is really interesting; we...were spoiled for choice. We ate from the burger and sandwich menu which was a real step up from usual pub fare. Portions are generous and food was absolutely top class. Main menu looked fantastic so we will be back. Our new favourite place in Charleston.More

This is a lovely bright and airy restaurant with tables well spaced out and with views towards the sea. We enjoyed a lovely seafood lunch, the platters were amazing with a great selection and very generous portions for two. This restaurant also has an outside...terrace and parking by the side. Fair prices for food and drinks. Would recommend a visit.More

The staff and food were lovely although the desserts should have been discribed better as I’ve never known a pavlova to be frozen also the steps to get to the place had no hand rail and it was a struggle to get up them don’t...think I would go back.More

We had eaten in a few places in Charlestown during a short break, all of which were good. I would have to say The Boathouse was my favourite though. On the Sunday evening we took a chance, it being early to get a table. The...very helpful waitress did manage to get us a table outside, which was fine as it had a heater. Having been out walking all day we both had healthy appetites! The food did not disappoint. I had the Fish & Chips and my wife the Meat Pizza. The Fish was a perfect size with plenty of chunky chips, mushy peas and a lovely Tartare sauce which I am sure was homemade. I actually struggled to finish which is not like me at all.. My wife's Pizza proved a little to much too, which was fine as I enjoyed it the next day for breakfast. The owner 'Danny' was hosting a small private gathering and checked in that everything was fine. That was nice and showed what a friendly and relaxed place it was. All the staff were friendly and helpful, even dare I say ? The Chefs?More

We have eaten in a few establishments in Charlestown on our recent visit. All of which were very good and no complaints. I would have to say we enjoyed The Boathouse the most. We hadn't booked but the waitresses was very helpful and seated us...outside, putting the table heater on. We were both hungry having been out walking most of the day . I opted for the 'Fish and Chips' , my wife the 'meat pizza.' Both were superb! The fish was a bit perfect size, plenty of chunky chips , mushy peas and a smashing homemade tartare sauce . At least it tasted fresh enough to be homemade. I struggle d to finish mine , a highly unusual to scenario! My wife didn't but took the unfinished pizza home in tinfoil.(I enjoyed it cold for breakfast) The Owner Danny came over to say hello and make sure we were ok . All the staff were happy and helpful, even the Chef's dare I say ? A great atmosphere and we look forward to going back when down next 😊More

Six of us ate here on Friday 15th. Our table wasn't quite ready when we arrived. It wasn't a problem as we had a drink whilst we waited. The food was gorgeous, we had pork belly, pizza, mussels and a lamb burger. We had a...great evening the restaurant was busy with a lovely chilled atmosphere. The staff were amazing, Karina was really lovely. We will return next time we are in Charlestown. A great evening with our family.More

Visited on 13th Oct. Sat outside under heaters. Waitresses were great., especially Karina (mortified after salad cream accident!). Best burgers we have ever had…truly! Pizzas were good too and desserts excellent. Complete package and relaxed atmosphere..definitely worth a visit.
