We've eaten as a family at Sail Inn about a dozen times. When it's good, it's one of the best spots in Alassio. We ate there on 29th December, our first meal back in Alassio ... grilled calamari and Pegato wine ... outstanding! So what the hell was the meal on New Year's Eve all about?! It was poor, very... Whenever I see a restaurant with a reviews graph that look like a wall (from 5 stars to 1), with a lot in each category, that usually means caution! But we have been going to Sail Inn for 18 years. Our experience has ALWAYS been favorable. A Saturday night regularly puts a popular restaurant to the test. Admittedly, there can... More

We've been coming here for about 5 years. If you're lucky enough to be in Alassio for Capo d'anno, Sail Inn is a fantastic choice. We love the grilled calamari, washed down with a good vermentino. Excellent food - we've never been let down here.

It may have been the choice of a crowded Saturday night, it may have been the high expectations I had based on reviews and in-site food presentation, it might well have also been a wrong day for chef and crew, but my experience at the Sail Inn was way below expectations. I had raw fish as an entry, pretty good... More

I have visited the place for the second time after 11 year. Most of restaurants have their life-cycle, they die after certain period. Sail Inn got better. The owner turned it from a place with predominantly local cuisine into a seafood place, of course with LIgurian flavor. Try anything you like from the menu, not necessarily fish. My wife ordered... We have been several times at the Sail Inn in the past few years. This restaurant used to be specialized in fish, but now the menu shows more meat than fish... Indeed the choice of fishes is pretty limited. We nevertheless ordered some crude fish starters which were less than impressive, as well as some linguine all'astice (lobster pasta) which... More

We were given one of two tables looking out to sea and could watch the sun set over the water. The menu was varied and everything that we tried tasted perfect. The owner was most attentive and all in all the evening meal was not expensive. We will return there.

We were looking for a special occasion spot to celebrate a special anniversary. We asked around and we were told to try it. So we went there. This restaurant is pretty famous as far as Alassio fish restaurants go, We didn't feel special there at all. No doubt, it looks great from outside and it has a nice décor, it is... A nice beachfront location serving good quality food, albeit not at the cheaper end of the scale. We had poor weather so we're unable to enjoy the view. In any case any form of alfresco dining in Italy is ruined by the primitive habit of the Italians in allowing people to smoke in the vicinity of diners. Maybe they will... More
