With all my reviews of Papei da Turta, you might think I have a stake in it. Not at all. I just admire someone who has genuine talent and continues to evolve. Plenty of people can read music; but few can play the notes in a way that you will never forget. Just because food is presented beautifully doesn't mean... More

Traditional Ligurian food is often excellent, incorporating healthy and premium local ingredients. But it can also be a bit repetitive and boring. Whether a local restaurant typically caters to tourists or locals, the menus and preparations tend to become locked into an inflexible routine. The menus all look nearly identical. This is my fifth review of this fine and evolving... More

Anywhere in Liguria, you are not far from some fresh and simply prepared seafood of high quality. But you can count the number of truly original and passionately creative restaurants on perhaps two hands. I have written several reviews of this restaurant, and each time we return it gets better. You will certainly meet the chef-owner and see her and... More

We have been there with another couple. It was late but the service was very good. Very nice food (the cook arrived 2nd in hell's kintchen Italy) and particular. Therefor a bit expensive as well.Place to visit again to try other dishes.

The same fine chef and same fine waiter, but the restaurant has been transformed since we were last here. Gone is the old mariner tavern atmosphere replaced with a very modern decor that works quite well: cozy or cramped depending on your need for personal space. Alassio, and LIguria in general, have plenty of restaurants that have almost the same... More

We decided to try this restaurant as it is in Alassio center and it is number 3 on TripAdvisor. They only have 2 tables outside, one was free we took it. We both ordered an Antipasti and Pasta. My antipasti arrived followed by my wife's one 10 minutes later... When her pasra arrived and I didn't see mine, I started... More

Over the years, we have tried most every restaurant in Alassio. Now that we have been here twice, Papei da Turta will be on our regular list. In a town that necessarily caters to a lot of tourists, it is good to know a place that has more of a local flavor. The welcome is warm and sincere, the food... More

One has to be favorably disposed to a little informal place named after a poem by a local poet in the Ligurian dialect. We are glad we tried this attractive and atmospheric trattoria in an ancient building on a Vico meandering off the caruggi in the heart of Alassio. We have walked past the outdoor blackboard menu many times. It... More

This restaurant was every bit as good as advertised. We tried some different foods and everything was delicious, including dessert and salad (latter was not on the menu but was made just for us). Service and value were great!
