Not a MIchelin level restaurant: service is the only thing at the level, in general food was uninspiring. Scampi presented in a half shelf, claws were not not cracked open, no pliers were provided for this, we had to scrape the meat out of the...shell with a regular, however small fork. Any run-of-the mill restaurant in Liguria, where we live, would provide scampi raw or cooked at half the price. Here we paid E70.00! for a plate of scampi with something on the side. The description of the dish in the menu was totally inadequate. Turbot, which normally is a fish with a lot of taste, was bland and not interesting. Various in-between bits and pieces were of variable interest. Very disappointing.More

We wanted to treat ourselves to one ‘special meal’ whilst staying in Corvara. This was one of the best fine dining dinners we have ever enjoyed, it was truly wonderful from start to end. The food, service, music, and nice surprises throughout the meal were...wonderful. The setting is special but not stuffy. Some of the food such as the risotto, was quite exceptional. The wine selection is unbelievable but thankfully the sommelier helped and didn’t force us towards only the most expensive wines. Yes, it is expensive but ironically, I think it was great value. This is a meal my family will remember for many years to come, thank you.More

An excellent restaurant serving contemporary Italian food. We had an 8 course menu with wine pairing or tasting. The food is excellent, the wine pairing/tasting was not interesting enough I would skip it.

If you want a high-end, fancy-schmancy dinner (for a couple or for a 9-person group like we were)… this is your place. The food is exquisite and the service is top-notch. Go in eyes wide-open… the 7-course tasting menu will take 3+ hours, the portions...small, the food unique and the cost high (~€250 per person). If this is what you want… look no further and make a reservation.More

Located in a beautiful hotel, La Perla, this 1 star presents creative dishes from the region. The decor straddles the fine line between mountain lodge chic and European modern and encompasses both perfectly. The food tries to stay local and the creativity was impressive. Presentation...was superb as expected. See my photos for some dishes.More

The food at La Stua was very good and the service was impeccable. We have dined in many Michelin star restaurants throughout Europe and the service at La Stua matched the service we have experienced in many of those restaurants. We also loved the intimate...atmosphere of the restaurant. The menu, while using fresh ingredients and in many instances creative, did not work well for us – it was a bit disjointed and some of the dishes would benefit if they were less complicated. Also, although we often enjoy tasting menus, having an a la carte menu in addition to the tasting menus would be a good option. As with the other La Perla restaurants, the wine list is simply superb and we were able to enjoy several great wines with dinner.More

Dined with my family last week after a day of strenuous hiking. Decor was outstanding, very friendly and helpful staff, limited vegetarian/ vegan options, food Michelinesque( it’s a dining experience with a tasting menu). There were very loud Americans on the next table and the...staff were very reluctant to ask them to lower their voices so we had to walk over and request them to do so. Overall, great experience and would certainly recommend.More

There's nothing like arriving in a new place asking around and / or finding people giving advice on "what's the best restaurant in town?". So I was caught into having the opportunity to dine in such location on the buzz as soon as I arrived...in Corvara / Alta Badia Valley. This review will hopefully save time and headaches to many of you wondering if is the alleged "best restaurant in town" really worth a try first place? To be honest & in my humble opinion it's a total "NO". Thumb down, 100%. So far, if I truly enjoyed to try it, all my pleasure ended up with the satisfaction about testing a new restaurant, but even learning more about the marketing tricks in the hospitality. Bear in mind I am well-rounded with F&B industry therefore ain't easy to trick me as it is not easy to trick customers in general. Stop being pretentious with "fake customers experience" on starred / awarded locations. There's extensive public knowledge on how to win and hold a Michelin Star...it's just a matter of budget. The more you invest, the easier / faster you get. And it sucks. This location tricks you, but also the "starred restaurants" marketing roaring around the Alta Badia Valley must say. When there is too much buzz around you should be asking where starts the customer journey and where it goes...TOFU & BOFU (top and bottom of the funnel). Let's start with the "Stua" presentation. Cozy ambient indeed, lots of staff moving around, furniture somewhat chic somehow shabby, drive the customer back in the past which is not a real thing. It's an all well done "show / show off", if / when your eyes lay over with attention to dets you'll figure out the level of average(ish). Pretty much all is "standardized" somehow not chic but cheap (ie. lighting design). Some furniture worn out and / or too old to be in a starred restaurant. The following dinner experience was boring accordingly. N-O-T-H-I-N-G tasted such good as you expect or may think after all this introductory brand presentation. Followed by a such poor menu with very few gourmet, particularly for those who're not interested in any "menu degustazione" which includes many options not necessarily all of your interest. To help explain, in my case just was wondering "what if I wanted to taste fish and few more?". Couldn't help but notice just one and was lake fish... Reading through the full menu I am even more confident there would be better match if this restaurant would be established around Garda Lake or in the Asti countryside, may also work well in the Lucchesia too. No way the menu has a good match with the heart / heritage of Dolomites cousine! In addition it is worth saying a word on service. Clients should not ask to drink their wine at their table. As a customer I am able & I want to pour it myself. This practice to pour wine and run away with the bottle is really annoying and snobbish. My vision is just mine, of course. Yet reading through negative reviews I am acquainted it's not me being an oddball. This place is a giant "fake" as many awarded restaurant are btw (the more you try the more you get). Not my job managing a restaurant or dealing with hospitality, indeed. I guess how much hard work is necessary to arrange such presentation & manage a restaurant, even though I am sure my experience could be more comfortable and my feedback easygoing if I wouldn’t have to pay a bill. Yeah, it's really not up to us (I mean, clients) and it not our urgency to fill the seats and face up costs, but I figure out why this place is star awarded and not to mention about the related large bills. Please, next drop to other locations in the area. Alta Badia is famous for offering wide range of beautiful, stunning, local "Stua-style" restaurants. Preferably not starred or rated by Michelin red guide, locations where the thriving business made on the shoulders of consumers doesn’t really worth the experience. Please note that my stay at "La Stua de Michil" dates back earlier than June 2020 as Tripadvisor doesn't allow to review further than a year back. It was just a pandemic in the meantime...but negative experience never washes out.More

I visited the Stua de Michil with my family whilst staying at the hotel La Perla, our visit to the Stua was highly anticipated having experienced the culinary delights of the hotel’s other restaurants, and we were not disappointed. As soon as we entered we...were treated to theatrical delights as the waitresses created champagne cocktails as an aperitif, then in between courses these unexpected palate cleansers came as surprise gifts. All of these were even specially catered for the vegetarian in our group, as well as the courses she chose as well. Any air of pretension that may be commonplace in some Michelin restaurants was quickly dispelled by the welcoming attitude of the servers and the fact they swung around a fireman’s pole to get to the wine cellar. Our sommelier, Valentina, was not just the perfect server, but she listened to our requests for something light and fresh for both red and white, and provided something local and sublime, especially compared to the heavy whites we had been handed at other establishments, despite our protests for something lighter. The starters were impeccable, especially the smoked egg yolk and sweetbreads, the pasta course was also impressive with the lobster risotto with lemon gel, an inspired combination. But the ultimate showstopper was the caramel soufflé, a true example of culinary perfection. Grazie Valentina e ElisaMore

Unfortunately, this is going to be my first bad review of a restaurant with Michelin star. I have been to plenty of them and I know which kind of experience they normally offer. I didn't find it here. What I found was a restaurant doing...a big effort to pretend that it is what it is not. We took the tasting menu with wine pairing. We didn't like the food. Not a single course. They just didn't taste good. Very strange combinations of ingredients in strange preparations... That can turn out to be great (I have experienced that in other places) but here, it just didn't happen. At least not for me, and also not for my husband. I have seen the restaurant has great reviews (that is also why we went there...) and I really wonder how it is possible. The wine was good (not extraordinary, but maybe we were just annoyed because we didn't like the food at all...), but we missed the sommelier. He wasn't there. The waitresses were super young and unexperienced (even a bit nervous, we had the impression) and knew nothing about the wine except what they had learnt by heart. Of course they were nice and helpful, but I expect something more from such a restaurant. Another funny detail that illustrates the pretentiousness of the place. The music. At the end of the dinner, the waitress brought us a piece of paper with the list of songs that we had heard during the dinner. She said that the music had been picked manually by an expert. There was at least one song missing from the list... A Christmas song had been played that night... in July.More

We were staying nearby so decided to treat ourselves to a nice evening out. The experience was excellent from start to finish. A few weeks after booking on-line I realised that I hadn't received a confirmation email so contacted the hotel and the enquiry was...dealt with very quickly. The restaurant was quite small, nicely decorated with good sized tables (no squeezing in as many as possible). The staff were helpful, friendly and professional throughout. Being ski season we were dressed on the casual side but didn't feel out of place. We opted for the 8 course tasting menu but required adjustments because I cannot eat gluten. This was no problem and I was given the option of a couple of gluten free alternatives. Every course was lovely. We did not want the full wine flight so the sommelier happily gave us a couple of options and was generous with the measures. All wines were excellent and matched the food nicely. Overall a really lovely evening, everything was just right. . A special thank you to the chef and his team for handling my gluten intolerance.More

Really one of the best restaurants we’ve ever been to, ever. We had an exceptional dinner here to celebrate a wedding anniversary in Sept 2019. Faultless from every perspective. Glorious food and amazing service. Obviously this is unlikely to be anything other than a treat...but I couldn’t help feeling it was great value too. We’ll definitely be returning!More
