Warm atmosphere, friendly environment. We had few typical dishes and we have really appreciated. I recommend pappardelle with mushrooms, radicchio and taleggio cheese.

Based on an olive oil press the theme of the restaurant is very endearing providing a very cozy ambience. The owner accommodated us and another family and provided outstanding service throughout the evening. We had tried making reservations in several other restaurants in the downtown area but they were all full. In hindsight we were very fortunate because the restaurant... More

My wife and I had a most wonderful dinner here. We were pasta'd out after too many other meals, and were lured here by the promise of meat. When we were seated we asked for a wine list from the waitress, who responded that "he" would be right with us. It was the owner, who worked with us, bringing multiple... More

Ate at this delightful little Osteria last night. Recommended by our Hotel...it was a shear delight, perfect in every way. The gentalman that served us, patiently went through the menu in great detail, explaining and recommending all the local delicacies. We were a family group of 6 and were all thrilled with our meal. Relaxed, rustic, washed down with some... More

Been in Ferrara for business and decided to have diner in this restaurant ,based on the good reviews on Tripadvisor. As a person that travel a lot (in Italy also) and as a person that has a passion for cooking and in special italian food, I can say that what we got there was a disgrace and an insulte to... More

Osteria il Frantoia is a small restaurant (just a few outside tables) located somewhat out of the way along the city wall; it opens only at 8:00 pm. The friendly owner provides English translations of the menu. Everything that I ordered was simply first-rate and reasonably priced: the pumpkin ravioli with sage sauce, a very tender piece of beef, and... More

A simple semi-rustic restaurant serving the best of cucina ferrarese. The menu is short but has more than enough attractive choices. As for the wine list, “Son’ io,” said our server (presumably the proprietor), “parlante.” He brought out several bottles from Romagna and explained their characteristics; we decided on the Torre di Ceparano 2007 from the vintner Zerbina near Faenza...
