Our airbnb host recommended we try Quinta dos Sabores as she is friends with the couple that owns it and we had a wonderful experience. Service was excellent and you can tell they take great pride in their preparation of the food. Each dish is carefully explained once it is placed on the table. If you have any dietary restrictions, they will accommodate you as well! All of the food was very tasty and the wines (from the family vineyard) were amazing! Highly recommend!!

I had dinner with my partner here yesterday, we felt super welcomed by the team and dining room (not pretentious but tastefully decorated and warmly lit). We had a five course impeccably curated farm-to-table meal (starting with appetizers by the fireplace), each having their own delightful tastes (its clear the Chef graça has a deep passion for the food she produces and all the ingredients were fresh), which differed from other restaurants on the island, serving more typical dishes. The food paired perfectly with the wine from the family's relatives in mainland Portugal (we even purchased a bottle to take home). The team, decor and food were humble and authentic.. we left feeling warm, well taken care of, full and very happy we visited.

Fine dining made cosy. We had no idea the restaurant has a degustation menu, so it was a surprise. How lucky were we to find this gem! It’s a family run restaurant. All the staff was incredibly nice, they use their own organic vegetables and fruits. The starter was fantastic, especially sun-dried tomatoes (the best I’ve ever tried)and pickles. The second starter was a delicious ceviche. The main courses - both fish and roast beef were perfect, made with big sense of detail, interesting tastes, beautifully served. A very tasty chocolate dessert with homemade guava sorbet. A cup of camomile tea from their garden was just a cherry on top! Can’t recommend enough, really!

We booked our table over the phone and she asked if we have any food allergies. I told her that my partner has a severe allergy to peanuts. When we arrived they served us the starters and we were about to finish eating them, she came and told us that their beetroot sauce had peanuts and that she is really sorry but she had forgotten about the allergy and she just remembered about it! We had to leave the place as we didnt feel safe eating there.

The reviews have been the motivation I came to this place, farm kitchen, bio, surprise menú. All very intriguing, mis an plaise with tons of courtelery for every plate change. Water and Lemonade made with tap water (taste not great), I got instead some wine, range from 12-22 a bottle. Starters soaked in vinegar, strong garlichy flavours or quite blend, nothing really impressing.. dissappointing. First fish plate, the tartare, as the dessert where my unique best pick. I would have enjoyed a little bigger portion.. The main dish was disappointing. All salads were soaked in vinegar and portionwise too small for an adult.. The tomato soup is really an unhappy choice for the price that is charged, neither half of the bowl..and to be honest too simple. 80 eur without drinks 2 people. Outrageous. Workers and service are really very nice and the atmosphere is good. The kitchen is pretentious and plates are presented with michelin star restaurant descriptions. From a rustic, farm kitchen I was expecting less concept and more substance. No card payment possible, no ATM in the radius.

We spent several weeks on Sao Miguel in the Açores. Many meals were enjoyed on the island, some 'three stars' and some four or 'five stars.' Among all of them the place we enjoyed the most was Quinta dos Sabores, in the countryside outside of Ribeira Grande. The couple that owns the restaurant (Inês and Paulo) are expert gardeners and the surrounding 3 acre gardens that supply 98% of the food presented reveal their skill. They are as kind and welcoming and delightful as could be imagined. We live in Hawaii, which is known for its friendliness and 'Aloha.' Quinta dos Sabores embodied this kindness and sweet embrace of strangers that is rare in the world today. And as an amateur chef myself, I can highly recommend the cuisine of Quinta as delicious, generous, and lovingly prepared. You sit down at a table in a restored-barn setting that is both rustic and elegant. The table is set lavishly and guests begin the meal with nine small varieties of appetizers, each delectable! OMG, I'd go back just for the spinach/basil croquets! Five courses are served at a Prix-Fixe price that is very reasonable for the caliber of cuisine and the generosity of the food. If you are a 'foodie' who can appreciate delicious food that was harvested on the premises that day, this is an experience that is not to be missed. We returned to the restaurant again while we were staying in the area, because it was such a wonderful experience. We look forward to future visits. Do not miss it!

Dinner at the farm with a set menu (no choice). This is a six course menu. We were afraid this would be too much food, but portions are ok. The six courses are a set of appetizers (we had 6); a first course (tuna carpaccio in our case); a soup; a fish course; a meat course and a desert. The rhythm of the meal was perfect as was the service. Waiting time between courses was neither too short nor too long. Tables are distant enough to be corona safe. We found the quality of the meal excellent. There is an ambition to make each course better than would be expected and this worked well in our case except for the soup, which we found very common and could have ben skipped. The fish and meat courses were really excellent. Our only criticism would be the proportion between vegetables and fish/meat. In every course you notice the effort to bring in ingredients from the farm: herbs, vegetables, even flowers. But why then having main courses where fish and meat dominate in quantity and the vegetables are there but get clearly a minor role. Reservation is a must. Credit cards are not accepted, but you can transfer the money. We found the price quality (40 euro set price for the menu) excellent. Tip for a romantic dinner: they have a table for two in the garden under a pergola.

Myself and friends had our last dinner here before we left Sao Miguel and we were so glad we did! The cozy dining room with a fireplace was a lovely setting, the staff were so friendly and welcoming and answered all of our questions about the food and the farm and the food!!! Each coarse was so incredible and well thought out. We loved trying things we wouldn't normally have tried and the beef was literally melt in your mouth butter like nothing I've ever tasted. Would highly suggest getting a reservation here if you're able, it was a special experience like nothing we've ever done!

What a discovery! We found this gem by chance and from the moment we arrived, we knew we were in for a special experience. This is a family owned farm (generations!) with a restaurant attached serving a 5-course prix fixe menu delivering one delicious dish after another. Truly, everything was perfect! The setting is gorgeous, the service is top notch and the cuisine is outstanding. Even our teenage daughters cleaned their plates with delight! Upon making our reservation, we were asked of any dietary restrictions which were accommodated. Very thoughtful! If we are fortunate enough to visit Sao Miguel again, we will definitely be back.

We had a fantastic evening at Quinta dos Sabores and would thoroughly recommend it! They serve a surprise 6 course menu which changes based on what is in season and available from the farm. Everything was super fresh and tasted delicious. Beatriz and family were extremely welcoming and we really enjoyed the homely feel. Thank you!

A couple we met at a different restaurant had recommended this place. I emailed right then to see if they had any reservations available before we had to leave. The next day I received an email from Sofia letting me know they did have an opening, even one that day! I was very excited and decided to try it out that day. It’s worth noting that Sofia was very quick to respond, nice and professional. We arrived a few minutes early for our 7:30 reservation but we were allowed to come in, pick a table, then explore the grounds if we wanted. I am so glad I did. I got to meet 2 very friendly dogs and a sweet horse named Incognito (plus some turkeys & ducks). The atmosphere is quaint but classy. The tables were already set up with breads and various sauces. The service was impeccable. Each meal was delicious. We’d been very disappointed about the food we’ve eaten thus far, so to find a place with truly delicious food was just a dream. You really can’t go wrong here. The food, the farm, the service, the atmosphere, the wine….everything was just absolutely perfect.

From the gracious welcome by the owner and all of her staff, to the amazing presentation visually and the sensational menu- this restaurant is outstanding. Everything was perfect and I rarely review places this flawless. The tomato basil soup- light and delightful. the mackeral, no fishiness . The fish and meat platters were seasoned to heighten the flavors. The kumquat sorbet dessert, a complement to the dinner. The owner and her staff are lovely and may only happiness reign for this establishment.

Do not miss out on visiting this most amazing farm stead restaurant with the greatest attention to detail and service. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening - the food, the beverages, both non-alcoholic and wines, and the unobtrusive and gentle approach of the owners serving us. Amazing!

An amazing evening with excellent food, service and ambience. The surprise menu was extremely well tailored to our dietary requirements and each course was brilliant. Each dish was thoroughly explained with enthusiasm and passion, with the servers being wonderfully polite and accommodating all evening. The mocktails were also great, not too sugary and full of flavour. We loved every minute of our dining experience and would recommend to anyone visiting the area - this is a must try! Oh, and don’t forget to pick up a jar of Pickles on the way out - they are out of this world!
