Nicely positioned on the top of the beautiful town of Maratea, with great views on the Tyrrhenian coast and the surrounding hills, the panoramic “terrazza” of this restaurant is definitely worth walking up the 15min you need to reach it from the central square in front of the municipal house. I had a good “antipasto misto mare del Borgo” (their... More

Very good service, beautiful view and fair prices for the quality. Fish very fresh and very good pasta dishes. Home made desserts.

So, we read all the reviews and went for it only to be disappointed. The setting is excellent with wonderful views over the old town and valley. We ate just two courses. The prima was good; properly cooked pasta with well made sauces. For the second we both ate the grilled seafood. It was OK but we believe frozen fish... More

This restaurant was recommended to us by the waiter in the wine bar in the town and it was the best recommendation we got. The restaurant was just a short walk from our hotel further down the road towards town and is attached to another hotel but do not be put off - if this restaurant tried a little harder... More

My husband and I were directed to this hotel on our first night in Maratea and we are glad that we went! This family operation is situated at the top of a mountain that overlooks the charming town of Maratea and the sea. Breathtaking views. The food was fantastic. A lot of fresh seafood to be had! We shared a... More

Stayed in the hotel where the lively desk clerk informed us that the menu at the hotel restaurant would be the same as the ones in Centro Storico. After walking around and then back up the stairs to the hotel we decided we would just eat there and made a reservation. We were the only ones there and were brought... More

Il Borgo is attached to a hotel in Maratea, has a great view (if you are lucky enough to visit when it is not raining, unlike us, i imagine the outdoor seating would be pleasant). Food was tasty but not special. Nothing to rave about, nothing to complain about.

We (2 families @ 4) spend 3 weeks in Maratea, Basilicata and by accident found this restaurant as there is currently no official sign, leading to the restaurant. It is located in the upper part of Maratea and offers a fantastic view over Maratea, its surrounding mountains and the sea. We had been welcomed by Giacomo, who is an extremely... More
