The postcard scenery is matched by the stunning art nouveau interior... not to mention the mouthwatering chicken.

We sat downstairs behind the plastic drapes the first time and enjoyed the setting. Second visit we were seated on a little private balcony off the stairwell. Very intimate fun and enjoyable. I think we split a salad and a bottle and wine and left very happy. Definitely recommend for lunch as well as afternoon gelato.

Header says it all. The spot itself is amazing. Decor great, view fabulous. But they do not seem overpriced for all that. If you are not in a rush, well worth the stop.

Enjoyed our cappuccinos and pastries at this beautiful cafe. Such a wonderful display of Homemade croissants, cookies and pastries, you don't know what to choose. You can sit at the bar for a quick coffee or enjoy the glorious view from the terrace.

I loved the vibe of this coffee shop/cafe. It had a comfortable atmosphere. The coffee was very good. The view off its balconies is awesome!

This is "the cafe" in Montepulciano. We stayed in town for a week and went here every morning (and even for lunch a couple of times). The menu is basic but it was all very good. Sit on the back patio if you can and take it all in.

Lovely display cases of pastries and a great selection of coffee beverages. Decent prices. Very atmospheric and a beautiful view at the back of the room. It seems to be dog friendly as well. The pistachio creme filled cannolis were to die for and almost impossible to find in northern Italy.

I spent the day walking through town, snacking, drinking, resting, shopping. A GREAT place to stop is this cafe. The food looked and smelled great. I was not hungry unfortunately. However there is this amazing terrace with a view of the Tuscan valley. I sat and had a cocktail and then a coffee. Such a great place to sit and... More

We had dinner here. It is the oldest coffee bar in Montepulciano. It is a beautiful place and usually quite busy. The restaurant is downstairs from the coffee bar and has a patio seating area that affords stunning views on nice days. My husband and I had pici pasta with fried breadcrumbs and sliced grilled steak that was excellent. Very... More

Caffè Poliziano Historical Place of Italy. This spacious and elegant Caffè in the historical centre of Montepulciano is a fine example of Art Nouveau design. For generations visitors and local residents have been able to enjoi a glorious view of of the Valdichiana from the balcony. Distinguished guests have included Carducci, Pirandello, Prezzolini, Malaparte, Mario del Monaco, Giulietta Masina,Ornella Muti,, Mario monicelli, Marina Doria di Savoia, Enrico Rava, Mauro Bolognini, Giorgio Battistelli, Licia Colò.... In 1992 the Caffè was lovingly restored to its former glory. Federico Fellini, who visited the "Poliziano" soon after, considered the atmosphere and style to be worthy of a great Central European city such as Vienna or Prague.
