Was in the area visiting family over the weekend & met up with a friend for a catch up & lunch. Picked the three Horseshoes as it was near to where I was saying & can safely say was an excellent choice. From the moment we stepped in the door we was made to very welcome, our table had been reserved in a lovely window. We both had roast which came about 5 mins after ordering which was fab as we were both hungry and it was delicious, lovely potatoes, cauliflower cheese, parsnips - heaven. We then had pudding one apple crumble & one chic cheesecake with nuts again absolutely delicious. Would definitely go again when I’m in the area. Overall was a lovely pub with very friendly & welcoming staff a locals. Really enjoyed it, thank u very much The Three Horseshoes

Tuesday Cod & Chips... 👌🏻👌🏻 Both cooked perfectly, a lovely bit of cod in a light batter, I do not often enjoy eating chips but these were lovely👍🏻.... and great value for money. The atmosphere was very pleasant and a nice service received from the gent behind the bar.

We popped into this pub for lunch after going to Mount Ephraim gardens. It was a wet and dismal day outside and the pub was warm and cosy and very traditional. The menu is very traditional pub grub (Ham egg and chips etc). We chose the fish and chips and it was absolutely delicious. The fish was light and fresh, the batter also light and non greasy and really tasty chips. Very impressed and I would go again just for the fish and chips (fish had been delivered on the day we went). Friendly publican.

We were greeted by the friendly landlord who made us very welcome throughout our visit. The pub has a homely feel inside and a nice large beer garden. We stayed for a meal, the food is homemade style pub grub and was very enjoyable. The menu was reduced due to covid but they were only too keen to cook something off menu for a vegetarian.

This pub was a just a few minutes down the road from where me and my partner were staying. We called up to see if we needed to book a table, in which we didn’t, however when we got there we were told about certain items which weren’t on the menu, this wasn’t mentioned on the phone. The menu is already small anyway, but in choosing the bar snacks, they were yummy! I think the pub is definitely more for the drinkers, it was a brilliant atmosphere with many people enjoying themselves. Staff were very friendly and did their best to accommodate us.

I booked the night before for Sunday Lunch, when we arrived we were told that they only had one chicken Sunday roast left this was at 2pm. So we ordered 1 x chicken and Vegetarian and one fish and chips, but the waitress said that they had no vegetarian and could just order a plate of vegetables which would be half price!! The waitress came back and said that the chef could cook some baked cod, which I said could I have it with all the other vegtables and yorkshires just like a roast. It came out with 4 x roast potatoes and a pile of samphire instead. The fish was taste less and had no seasoning. The samphire was old and new mixed together and again no seasoning and soggy not crunchy. We even sent back a pint of cola as the machine had not added the syrup( faulty machine) but was still served to us. I'm not sure how you can run out a vegatarin and a roast chicken main. Its not like Blue fin tuna!! I appreciate the chef cooking something else but if you are going to do this make sure that it's great!! 3 x drinks and 3 x mains £59 not great for the food and drink experience we had.

May I first take this opportunity to apologise if you had a less than satisfactory experience at our pub on Sunday last. Both myself and Laura are always on hand should there be a complaint and we normally deal with any complaints made to either one of us should it be brought to our attention. If we aren't aware of a complaint at the time, or if it’s not brought to our attention immediately, how are we to deal with it? Should you have made a complaint on Sunday, one of us would have done our very best to rectify said complaint. It's not much use putting this review on TripAdvisor and expect anything other than an apology for what you thought was bad service/food. It's very easy to run out of certain menu items in a little country pub as we don't stock huge amounts of particularly vegetarian food items because we would end up throwing most of it in the bin. As for the chicken, that was particularly popular on Sunday, hence after 2 hours of roasts being served, we were down to 1 chicken roast. So, please, when you're next in a little country pub and have a complaint, have the common decency to bring it to the attention of someone who can resolve it. Perhaps you will find that you get a better and more favourable response than this. Happy dining.

We had pizza for our tea tonight and it honestly was the best pizza we have had in a very long time. Flavour was amazing - cooked in a proper pizza oven-delivered to us within 20 minutes. Honestly can’t recommend enough will definitely be calling next week

Just popped in for lunch, cheesy chips and a large glass of white rjioca suited me fine. My partner enjoyed brie and bacon sandwich. Pity our weekend break was too short to make a return visit this time.

Lack of communication and a real genuine welcome from experienced staff was a problem. Also, Lack of knowledge regarding daily menu choices, with confusion amongst staff. Several of us had the beef but this was tough to cut and chew. Braised beef might be a popular option as a crowd pleaser. Mt Sister found the pastry for the apple pies was also tough, with an uninspiring pureed filling. I was OK with the Al dente vegetables, but other family members thought they were too underdone. So, all on all debatable if we'll return.

Great to have Ben back again, this time cooking in the Three Shoes. Popped up for full English breakfast on Thursday morning as the festival weekend was on, then again for Sunday Roast Dinner. Clare had the roast beef, I went for the mixed meat (Pork, Chicken and Beef). Both meals were delicious and included cauliflower cheese, wonderful carrots and broccoli (which I know Ben chose specially from the veg market earlier that week). Keep up the great work Ben, and can't wait for your specials evenings during the week!

Great pizza at Bellissmo! I opted for their signature four cheese pizza, and it was a revelation. The crust was perfectly thin and crispy, with just the right amount of char from the wood-fired oven. Each bite was a delightful balance of chewy and crunchy. The sauce was the star of the show—fresh, tangy tomatoes blended with aromatic basil and a hint of garlic. It was like a burst of summer in every slice! The mozzarella was generously applied and melted to perfection, creating that ideal stretch we all crave. I also appreciated the quality of the ingredients; you could really taste the freshness. The basil was vibrant, and the drizzle of olive oil on top added a luxurious finish. Service was prompt and friendly, which made the whole experience even better. I left with a full stomach and a happy heart, already planning my next visit. If you’re looking for an authentic pizza experience, Bellissmo is a must-try!

Popped in for lunch a couple of weeks ago and what a charming pub. We both opted for the Chicken Schnitzel which @ £14.00 each was excellent. VERY large chicken schnitzel, with chips, coleslaw and a large sweetcorn. Whilst a bit of a wait, at least you knew that it was freshly cooked. Highly recommended

Proper country pub. Locals having a pint and a chat. I went with my father and my son for a pre-Christmas lunch and were very happy with our gammon, steak and pizza meals. Very friendly, good value trad pub.

We visited the pub in the day the kitchen launched a new menu. The wood fire Parma pizza was superb, perfectly cooked base with fabulous fresh ingredients. The ribs had been marinaded in a flavoursome bbq sauce and the meat fell off the bone. Nice pub providing good hospitality and great food at reasonable prices!

Had to try the wood fire pizza. My partner is Italian & very particular, “Bellissimo” pizza did not disappoint. We had Sabicca Nduja, Pepperoni & Margherita. This was clearly made freshly from scratch with high quality ingredients. The nduja was nice & spicy complimented with fresh chilli’s. We will certainly be back next week. The main menu looked good too.
