The amazing thing about this place is the setting. It's worth going just for that, especially if you can get a seat in the little patio section that has a view, though the courtyard is nice too. It's a long walk up to the restaurant. If you're with someone who walks slowly or can't walk far, this probably isn't a... More

We accidentally discovered this hidden gem as we wandered through the old monastery gardens and having enjoyed a wonderful meal in the shady courtyard booked to return the next night to the section overlooking the rooftops of the town. The food could not have been better and the friendly service made it one of the best dining experiences my partner... More

Not only is this restaurant in a wonderful location, that is to say the historic chartreuse, but you can also have good vegetarian food, which is not something you often get in French restaurants. Recommended.

Where to begin? The setting, in an old monastery, was overgrown with ivy and stylishly decorated with moody lights and the old stone walls separated it into private sections. The manager went out of his way to accommodate us, giving us excellent suggestions. The food was the best we'd had on our trip -- a real tour de show of... More

This restaurant, divided between a leafy garden side and a sunny terrace overlooking the City is a summer treat. Lots of families enjoying a wide ranging menu. Both tourists and locals. Very welcoming service.

The food was great and so was the wine. Our waiter was most helpful in suggesting the meal and the wine.

I imagined this being in a garden, but it was more like being on a 2nd floor balcony overlooking the town rooftops. We had the one course plate of the day. We ordered two plates of fish, but one plate was delayed. In the mean time everyone at other tables got served their appetizers. When the dish finally arrived it... More

This restaurant is hidden in in the monastery and we did not only enjoy the delicious food, but also the view from the terrace and the friendly service.

Over on one side of the cloister St Jean with its massive C17th well head, a little doorway leads into a garden and covered terrace: Les Jardins d'Ete. There was a great menu from a kitchen that knows its stuff, whether with a soufflé starter or the "butcher's choice" (today an everyday cut of steak turned into something really nice)... More
