We hadn't been to The Vine for many years but we're advised by friends that it was very good. We ate on a Saturday lunchtime, the food was excellent and we will certainly be back. Next time we will visit midweek lunchtime with friends as they have a fixed price lunch menu.

I booked this restaurant last minute when another restaurant let me down. What can I say other than they could not do enough for us. I explained what I needed from the outset for my son and they sorted it all out. I did not even need to ask for the wifi code they brought it over to us. One... More

Our mains didn't come out together so waited as it's not fair for someone to be left to eat on their own ( extra bowl of chips given to compensate and went back uneaten). When I tried my main it was disgusting..... message came back that white wine vinegar had been used instead of white wine !. In fairness that... More

I am very sorry you came away disappointed after dining with us last Saturday lunchtime. I can only once again apologise for the chef's error in adding white wine vinegar as opposed to white wine to the mussels sauce. This is the first time this has happened and will no doubt be the last. I think it would be only... More

This is the first time we haven't enjoyed everything at The Vine Inn. Starters were lovely, we both had homemade pate with marmalade all very good. However, the main course of Rib Eye steak was an expensive let down. We both ordered our steaks medium rare, mine arrived cooked correctly but it hadn't been left to rest so the bloody... More

We are very sorry we did not meet your expectations this time around. We appreciate your loyal custom and are keen to address your complaints. I'm sorry you didn't feel like bringing up any issues at the time as we would have done our utmost to resolve any dissatisfaction. It seems most odd that the steaks came out cooked so... More

Nice country pub/restaurant with a really varied choice of excellent, tasty food. Went on a Monday night thinking it would be quiet, but it was pretty busy which shows how popular it is and gave the place a good atmosphere.

Booked a table for a Sunday at 1.45. After 25mins waiting at the bar to order food was told there would be atleast a 40 min wait for food! When the food finally arrived we were told the veg was on its way, After 7 of us were 3/4s of the through our dinner the bought one small bowl of... More

I am very sorry for the level of service you received on Sunday. It is no excuse but I have been manager at the Vine Inn now for 12 years and it was the busiest most demanding day I have worked due to it being such an especially sunny unusually hot April Sunday, not only was the pub and restaurant... We booked a table here on the basis of good reviews. Service was very slow, which we forgave somewhat as it was a sunny day and lots of people clearly enjoying her pub and garden. Kitchen clearly very stretched. The food, when it arrived, was at best ok, full menu - what attracted us - is not served on a... More

I am very sorry you were not fully satisfied with our food and service. It was a very sunny day as you pointed out but not just busy, ridiculously so due to it being an unusually hot sunny April day, not only was our pub and restaurant fully booked, our gardens were full also with a simultaneous influx of customers... Went to the vine for Sunday Lunch, first visit , enjoyed it very much, nice cosy atmosphere, booked our table earlier in the afternoon and were seated as soon as we arrived, it was full with diners but the wait times were acceptable roast loin of pork for both of us, very nice, veg was also perfectly cooked, a nice... Great Country pub at the foot of the clent hills with really good quality home cooked food. We had a table in the bar so we could take our dog. We love how dog friendly this place is. The menu has a good variety of dishes with an extensive specials board. We had the Camembert, mussels, hake and ox cheek... More

A Traditional English Country Inn & Restaurant...
The Vine Inn is nestled in the heart of the beautiful Clent Hills. A warm welcome awaits for all those who wish to visit a traditional English country pub that offers high quality dining in a relaxed environment.

Our first class menu has been selected to offer a discerning mixture of traditional pub favourites and to specialise in fresh fish and game - our fish dishes constantly change on our specials board while our game pie and organic venison steaks (done in a variety of ways) are popular trademark dishes.

The Vine Inn was first registered as the "Clatterback Water Mill" and what was once the old mill pond is now the garden with a decking area built near to where the water wheel was housed. It was first used as an inn offering home brewed beer, bed and stabling in 1836.
