Walked into this Restaurant while hiking in the Pyrenees. Situated close to Cauterets in a lovely valley, this place was surprisingly sophisticated in its presentations and dishes! And I was expecting "just another Refuge" The Hotel- restaurant is less than a hour's drive from Cauterets, and about 2 hrs hike. Service was great - food even better with generous portions!... We arrived as part of our tour along the GR10. The owners were hospitable, freindly and went out of their way to be helpful. The rooms and facilities were basic but clean and worked. The real high point was the food and views, looking on mountains to the sound of Pyrenean cow bells whilst eating outstanding food! The owners provided... More

The quality of food was an absolute surprise in this little place just on the edge of the national park. Good was well presented and tasted superb. Portions were very generous. Personnel very friendly. Prices very contained. Loved it! Very careful with my gluten free request, adapting their plates for me.

The restaurant is at the very end of a narrow road with a pretty poor surface at the start. Persevere as the road improves and runs alongside a lovely mountain river. We did telephone to book our lunch and were not able to get through until the same morning of our visit but all was well and as the restaurant... More

We turned up at 7pm for our table which we had booked over the phone from England some weeks before. The was a mess up on the booking but the owner happily accepted us and we chose the 26 euro menu, a bottle of the house wine and the whole thing was superb. It is the second time we have... More

There had been a mistake with our booking but the lovely owners fitted us in and made us really welcome. The omelette starter was the best omelette I had ever tasted, light, full of flavour and delicious. My huge steak wasn't for the faint hearted, melted in your mouth, very tender. Gorgeous puddings. The main attraction is the breath taking... More

Once you find your way to this spot, which is up a fairly dramatic and beautiful small mountain road, you are in a peaceful valley, through which rushes a beautiful mountain river. If you have not booked, secure a table before you do anything else, as this is a small establishment - but of the highest quality, so it is... More

We saved the best till last and then spent an age trying to find this place! Never managed it, despite looking up on net, trip advisor, locally! We are good at this normally - please give better directions.

You would not believe that there would be a restaurant of this quality at the end of this road. Follow the road out of Cauterets towards Pont D'Espagne and you will see the signpost for the restaurant off to the left. The road can be a little dodgy in places but it is well worth the drive. The food was... More
