Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

What a shame! After 30 years of coming to cornettes, its with a sad heart that we have to say we wont be back!!! The end of an era! It has always been our favorite restaurant in the area, from 1990 our children, grandchildren have allways loved it!...Unfortunately the food and quality of the food is no longer up to standard, the service is mediocre and it is just ordinary,no wow factor anymore and no atmosphere and no smiling faces! what has happened,I know times change ,but the change here which isnt a change is to its detriment and you only have to try the food at one of the neighbours Atelier Jacky to see the difference, the lovely setting is all the same, but what has happened! I know the original chef is unfortunately not with us anymore, but unfortunately the shoes are too big to fill. Its a restaurant now existing on its years of good reputation rather than the food and service it used to provide. Will not be back(more than 100 visits here over the years)More

I have been several times in this restaurant in the last decade. I like the food very much. My last visit in March however was not to my expectations. Although, the food was very good, as usual, there were very few waiters for the service...and whenever one of them talked to us we had the feeling that we were under pressure to choose quickly, without any 'recommendation' or short talk with the waiter. I believe the restaurant should pay attention not to overload the personnel because I saw them almost running from one table to another. This was not like this in the past. The service quality is also about welcoming and talking to the guests without having the feeling that the staff does not have time for us. Clearly, the restaurant is missing qualified service personnel. I really hope this will be taken into consideration.More

If in the area, you must book and eat at in the restaurant, it is superb! Fantastic friendly service, immaculate in presentation, beautiful menus and delicious food. Would highly recommend. Avalanche red wine my new favourite! Best creme caramel too!

Beautiful restaurant with an amazing atmosphere. The food was delicious and there were plenty of options to choose from. The staff were all really friendly which made our experience even better, they were more than happy to recommend different wines to go with our meals...and answered any questions we had about the menu. We would all love to come back to stay in the hotel and eat in the restaurant again!More

Tonight was the first time for many years that we have been able to visit Les Cornettes. The gods was excellent as always the service was just as it used to be, very attentive and caring. The staff are very friendly. Although the menu has...been updated all of the old favourites are still there, and the quality is top class.More

It is great food with a nice choice. If you take one of the daily menus price/quality wise it’s an excellent option. Portions are good size, you won’t go hungry. So beware with the starter, much more will follow. We enjoyed the atmosphere and the...food/drinks.More

We came here for the food as we had seen recipes from a book that originated here and the food is well prepared, quality ingredients and cooked well. Let's deal with the service first as it can set you off on the wrong foot, put...bluntly the front of house is like being greeted by a Parisian waiter, we felt they were so well booked there was no need to be so nice. So that aside, to the food.... We took an amazing terrine and an even more amazing pressé. The terrine was meaty and moist served with a clever selection of salads, the pressé with Guinea fowl and foie gras was even better, with a clever lentil side and a superb fig-sticky-jam concoction. We took two main courses, a saddle roll of rabbit and stuffing, the sauce accompanying was delicious. We also had the fillet de bœuf rossini style, the meat was soft and cooked exactly as ordered, the fried foie gras just crispy on the outside, the sauce was served nearly cold but on a hot plate, a small error. More vegetables would have been nice but a tasty plate. Our main reason for the visit was to have the baked ice cream dessert they called a Norwegian omelette, on the menu it advised it was a minimum of four persons so we both had a little cry, at the end the lady we think is the head waiter advised if we call in advance they will make it for two. A reason to return! She did though advise another dessert cooked a similar way so we had that, a Vacherin I think the name was, meringue around layered ice cream, it was excellent and we strongly recommend keeping space for at least a share dessert here. Wine selection is wide and some decent half bottles so we were able to have a good white (local Crepy) with the starters and a St Emillion with the main. So go in with a big smile and enjoy the food which is for sure the best in La Chapelle (and we did eat in the Ensoleillé too) and don't worry about the service too much. And finally, my wife took the terrine and the rabbit plus a cheese course (a great selection from a rolling luge trolley) for 26 euros all in, ridiculously good value so do spot the deals.More

We've been here a number of times and it never lets us down. Really good draught beer and food. The restaurant is also brilliant but if you're looking for a snack the bar is the place to go. Booking is advisable.

We had been for a coffee the day before in the bistro/brasserie side of this hotel restaurant and liked the atmosphere. We asked for their card and booked per telephone for next days’ lunch. On arrival in brasserie we were advised that there was No...space in the brasserie and we had ‘booked’ the (more expensive and stuffier) restaurant. At no point were we asked on the phone that there was 2 options. The person on reception was very curd , borderline aggressive, suggesting we should know better. Not a good start but the service in the restaurant was a bit friendlier and we gave it a go. Food was plentiful ( game season) but all a bit heavy and lacking finesse. At 48 euros per person (+ wine) I expected a more refined meal. Deserts a let down with mainly ready made frozen items. Would I go back . Not to the restaurant but probably in the brasserie which looked more fun, easy going and approchable.More

Visited with my elderly parents. Food was great - typical mountain style. A whole book of lovely deserts. Servers were very friendly. We ate in the bar area - lovely chalet-style atmosphere. Lift to toilets for my mother who has limited mobility.

Our second visit to this restaurant this winter season. It is always a real treat. I note some negative reviews of late which is a shame. Service was ok for us, could have been better I suppose. My only criticism is the volume of food....We always have a set menu and we always regret it. Obviously this is nobodies fault but our own but we leave feeling incredibly uncomfortable! My favourite course are the starters. The salads are huge and delicious and the charcuterie overly generous. Next time I intend to only order a starter. The Abondance salad is basically a mini fondue with lots of charcuterie and two types of potato!More

A typical chalet, friendly staff and homemade dishes. On the menu, traditional fondue and raclette, fish and meat as well. The menu starts at 26, then 41 euros. Dessert are homemade and tasty. A really nice restaurant to try !
