My wife and I are here while staying in Gignese for a week. We chose based on other trip advisor reports and enjoyed noting the difference between the people who whinged about the lack of multilingual menus and those who celebrated the fact. We fall in the latter camp and enjoyed the fact that it is very local, with no... More

We came to eat lunch following the recommendation on tripadvisor and the service was disgusting. They had no english menu. From te beginning we felt like unwanted guests with alot of shuting around us. We asked the waitress to help us with the menu and to translate it, but her english skills were poor and she did not explain it... More

We have been where twice. I hope we'll come again. It a sample of perfect Piemont cuisine. Very friendly and very tasty. I can recommend ghnoci with some salumi inside, dolce is pera con cioccolatto (pear with chocolate and vanilla). It's light and with balance of taste. If you like risotto take a seasonal con fungi porcini ( with mushroom)... More

Yet another family run restaurant in Gignese amazing how good they all. The food here is great, you can pick your wine from the Cantina and spend all night looking at the amazing collection of pots, dolls , old photos etc they have everywhere.

I'm so glad we went- this was such a different experience to the touristy places that fill Stresa and the islands. A good sign at the start was... More

My husband and I tried this Osteria for the first time last evening and found it was a nice treat. It was obvious that a lot of locals dine there as it was quite busy. We had a lovely bottle of Nebbiolo Langhe (a bit over priced though) followed by the veal milanese and wild boar in ginepro and orange... More

Osteria like most resteraunts in Stresa are very busy in August. But it was well worth the wait and the fish dishes we had on two nights were lovely.
