A must go if you are hungry for a Bavarian specialty, the so called Leberkaes which tastes almost like a hot dog, very good bread and tasty beer

This is an "institution" in the picturesque cute city of Wangen. An absolute must go. They have great freshly baked breads, leberkaes and the the beer from a local small brewery. Quiet often you have to squeeze in with other people on one of the...More

This bakery is impressive. My eyes feast at the great presentation of everything... My mouth waters just imagining the taste! A pity so little time and so much to choose from. I loved the strawberry cake, tastes like freah ripe strawberries. My daughter loves the...More

Fun place with lots of locals. We sat in the beautiful biergarten last summer where we partook of the beer, laugenhörnle, breads and the famous leberkäs. Yum and fun in beautiful Wangen.

Fidi as the locals will call it is where people come long distances within Germany to visit. It is a featured beer hall with grass roots history and groups or clubs might meet up once a week to chat outside of the virtual Facebook realms....More

Thank you very much for your review! We enjoyed the way you described the Fidelisbäck. And we like the Crocodile Dundee part a lot...

I first came here as a child and things have not changed much since then. The atmosphere is still great with chatty locals and friendly staff. The traditional food is just amazing! Have a Seele and Leberkaes, it's quality food and you can definitely taste...More

Thank you very much for your review! I'm very sorry that the Zwetschgendatschi was disappointing. You were absolutely right: the pastry bakers put too many crumbs under the plums to absorb the liquid of the fruit. But the plums were still quite dry early in...More

Back in the U.S. after a vacation in Europe and I can't stop talking to friends about this great bakery restaurant we ate at while visiting Wangen. We ate there twice and both meals were delicious. The baked goods were outright the best we had...More

This place is a funny place,... it is traditional and people are friendly. Many local people that have no problem to chat a bit. The menu is very limited,... but you do not go here so much for the food (except the Seele bread). The...More

Thank you very much for your review! I'm sorry that the food we offered was only ok for you. We're trying to make simple food but very good food. Our "Leberkaes" - the meatloaf - is made by a local butcher who uses very good...More

It must be at least 30 years since I first experienced this once fine cafe. The last couple of visits show what can happen when a restaurant owner thinks he's "made it". Yes, the bread is still good. The service is average. The coffee comes...More

Description
More than 500 years old bakery and tavern: we serve beer, hot "Leberkaes" (a kind of meat loaf), hot and cold sandwiches, soups, traditional snacks, breakfast, fresh rolls, soft pretzels and cakes from the bakery.

We only use our own recipes to bake our bread and sweets. We use only top-quality regional ingredients and no artificial ones. And in our bakery you can get bread baked in original wood fired oven.
