There's a nice range of dishes available, and the food comes quickly enough. Just a typical Bavarian cafe, but well run with a nice atmosphere, in a non-modernised but pleasant building. You need a little German to order here, however, English speaking is not automatic.

We stopped off here en route to our hotel. We ordered the Brezel and Weisswurst with a Weissbier and were not disappointed. Quick friendly service and good food. Cakes and tarts also looked great. We will try them next time! Lots of choice in Murnau...More
Easter holiday starts. My partner and I had a day trip to Murnau and had coffee and cake in Knönner. I ordered Agnus Bernauer cake and it was just right, well-structured with layers, not very sweet but definitely tasty. No wonder many locals were there....More
There is a great selection of home-made cakes and the service is good. The location is ideal in the centre of town with an extra outdoor terrace on the first floor. I escpecially liked the Swiss-type Engadine nut cake.
Best coffee in Murnau in our opinion. In the heart of "old town" shopping district. Endless wait to pay (and quite a wait to order as well).
