Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The service is excellent: efficient and profesional. The food is also good: goulash, snitzel, goose. The portions are big. We couldn’t afford dessert, a pity. They provide box for doggy bag if you ask for. The place is quiet and well located.

The goulash is just perfect. Brought back childhood memories and sundy meals at my Hungarian grandaunt. Definately worth the detour to Speyer. If you are already there for some days, a must do.

Excellent dinner. The rumpsteak was really good, with vegetables and potatoes. Very good, what else to add… I’ll come back

What a wonderful meal we had at Zur alten Münz! The outdoor seating was comfortable and the staff extremely courteous and helpful. Our meat was perfectly cooked. Both meals we ordered came exactly as described, as well. We each ordered a plate of food, glasses...of wine and then shared a bottle of water--total bill came to 47euro.More

Its in the Old Mint with tables outside overlooking the main pedestrian street in the Old Town - main street since Roman times. Its popular with the locals and for good reason. The food is what I'd call imaginative modern German. The menu is just...in German, which is fair enough, the town despite its wonderful historic buildings doesn't seem to attract foreign visitors. However given our very limited German, it did make our meal a bit of a stab in the dark. But we found it delicious and you certainly won't go hungry!More

Almost every time we visit the old town of Speyer, Germany we end up in the alte Muenz. This time again a late summer evening I got as simple as terrific stuffed paprika (peppers), my wife a mouthwatering salad. Don’t know what those guys in...the kitchen do and how, but it’s always that way. Hungarian food on the menu, couldn’t resist the palacsinta. Let the pictures speak for it. Enjoy.More

What an amazing evening of exquisite dining. The service is outstanding and very attentive without being invasive. The food and wine accompaniment is excellent and the host will guide you with best choices. If you want a treat and wonderful local food selection and choices...then this the best restaurant in the area by far.More

Went there for lunch. I had grilled salmon, my wife had paprika with rice. Both dishes was ok, but food was very fat.

Popped in on a very busy Saturday lunchtime on the off chance there was a table, we only waited for a couple of minutes before a table was free. The Menu is a mixture of traditional German and Hungarian, between us we had a Goulash...with Dumplings, a soup and a dish with 3 types of meat on a skewer with Potatoes and Courgette. The food took a little while to come, probably because it was busy but it was really nice, the Wine was a Pinot Noir and the Beer was from a Faß. all of it was tasty, nicely presented and the service on the whole was good. Price was average considering Speyer is a tourist Hotspot.More

On our daytrip to Speyer and touristy sites it was time to eat so as we walked around exploring options we came across this place and it did not disappoint. The food came out as art, was hot and fresh and delicious. The kids has...escalope and the husband and I had some dishes that were amazing. I had pork medallions with bacon wrapped fried mozzarella with amazing dish of potato balls in chili sauce wow so good.More

I love this restaurant. One of the best in Germany. In a wonderful city Speyer, direct in the Rhein river with a beautiful Dom.

The Restaurant is situated in an old building in the Center of Speyer. And normally it's better to make a reservation but we were lucky to get a free table for two. The service was very good and friendly. I had stuffed cabbage hungarian style...and for me there was a little too much cream added. So I was not really satisfied.More

Prices ok. I know German food can be heavier than some, but this was stodgy. Schnitzel and salad were fine, but sweet potato chips were not sweet potato and not good chips. If I order belly of pork, I do not expect 2 slices of...over salted preprepared pink sliced rolls of meat, The sauerkraut was good as were the bratkartoffel.....but a real palatinate meal it was not. Disappointing......I hope this is not the standard elsewhere.More
