How is Fox & Duck rated?

NEVER AGAIN!! I telephoned the previous day to confirm that they were serving lunches on Monday, and received an affirmative reply. When we arrived with our guests from New Zealand ( 6 people in total) we found the dining area in total dis-array following a...wedding party over the weekend., and no tables either set or arranged for dining. Furniture was swiftly rearranged for us and our drinks order taken. We then waited and waited for the drinks to arrive. Eventually they were served and our food orders taken, and this followed by a delay so long we were contemplating leaving the venue. It transpires that the landlord had not arranged for any kitchen staff as he did not anticipate they would be needed, and he was running the pub bar and the kitchen by himself. He had to make a phone call to get someone in to cook our lunch, which was eventually served in such a delayed manner that the first two persons had finished their meal while others were still waiting. The jacket potatoes were undercooked. A similar waiting and staggered serving was repeated in serving the sweet course, which is puzzling as it was basically only ice cream. NOT A PLACE TO VISIT TWICE.More

Sunday lunch

A desire for a Sunday Lunch, at short notice, prompted us to book a table for two at our local Pub. The Fox & Duck had been highly recommended by a fellow Allotmenteer and I was really looking forward to discovering a local eatery. Suprised...how empty the venue was, with few people at the bar or in the restaurant, I think the economy is hitting hard. We were walked through the pub, passed the pool table to a Marquee, in which we sat (heated) watching the gorgeous autumn colours on the trees within view. The food arrived in good time and was clearly home made and hearty, just what we needed. Delicious 'Lamb Shank' falling off the bone with crispy roast potatoes and a mint gravy that was absolutely beautiful.. A really well put together dish, so good that I could forgive the over-cooked broccoli and cauliflower. Gary and his staff couldn't be more caring about what they do. Thanks very much.More

Amazing food

We went for the menu and it didn’t disappoint. Garlic pizza bread and fried chicken were amazing. Very friendly service. We’d be back if we were local.

Christmas dinner

A little gem in Stotfold.

We had a Sunday roast here today. Lovely food, lovely staff, you couldn't wish for more really. Nice cozy restaurant. The meals came out in good time, were delicious and at a good price too. Highly recommend it and we will certainly be back for...more.More

Look no further for the best food ( restaurant 5* quality), amazing atmosphere, and the most loveliest staff❤️

Amazing food, as a family we struggle to find where we can all be suited but this is the place to go. Our son absolutely loved his meal( it’s a first )!. Honestly restaurant quality food, steak cooked perfect, and my fox and duck chicken...was unreal!. Lovely setting to eat inside or out. The staff are what make this work also, all so helpful and friendly. Will definitely be visiting again very soonMore

Another amazing meal

This pub does not ever fail to amaze me with the quality of food they produce. It’s that good this was my 2nd visit in 4 days for food for my family. A string favourite of mine is the former burger which at under £8...is an absolute bargain in my eyes with the staff taking every little piece of information and feeding it through to the kitchen. The owner is an absolute diamond of a bloke and nothing is too much trouble for his customers. This place is a hidden gem and a must for people to visitMore

Great food & excellent service

We were booked into The Crown but looking at their Sunday menu realised that their wasn’t much choice on their Sunday menu & it seemed to be over-priced. We called the Fox & Duck and asked to book for 9 with 45 minutes notice, the...landlord warned us that their was a group in watching football & on arrival he had set up a table away from the noise but with a projector showing the football for our boys. From start to finish the landlord was so friendly & accommodating & couldn’t do enough for us. The food choice was extensive & the food was amazing. All 9 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals, the loaded chips were the best I’ve tasted. They even boxed up our few slices of left over pizza to take away. The deserts were home made & were delicious! I’d really recommend this pub, it is such good value for money.More

A lovely little find!

This is a lovely little pub. Welcoming, friendly staff, good food at decent prices and huge beer garden that also offers weekend entertainment for both adults and children (live sports, bouncy castles, etc). I’d definitely go back if I’m ever in the area again and...would therefore highly recommend.More

Pleasant evening with friends!

Went here in week with friends for drinks. Great selection of Gins. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Was impressed by bar staff making us aware of Covid rules on arrival and these were followed. Nice relaxing catch up - will be back to eat...as well next time.More

Great Friday night
