The place is right next to the train station and various walks. The restaurant offers lots of different tipes of food for small and big appetites. The terrace is really nice and inside you have various, woody rooms to eat in. There are various tipes of burgers, Rösti, Pizzockerl, Salads, dried meat and cheese platters, cakes etc, etc. We had... We have been in the restaurant for dinner, and they are now focussing on meat and special burgers (we had the angus burger) and local food. Well the restaurant is cozy and the service friendly. The quality of the food is good (the meat is fantastic) and we were all happy. Indeed a good place to go, especially at dinner... More

After a long hike through the glacier we were exhausted and craving for some sugar overdose. Then this café appeared at the end of the path right next to the train station with the most delicious selection of pastry and cakes. They also have a delicious selection of ice cream so we had to try both.

My husband & I enjoyed a pre-hike snack and a post hike "reward" of home made apple strudel on our visit to the Morteratsch Glacier. The restaurant is conveniently located at the top of the parking area and right next to the train station stop. The restaurant has a beautiful patio out door seating area with plenty of umbrellas for... More

In a group of eight people we had lunch on the terrace of the restaurant. Food was ok, but when we got the bill we had to realize that we were charged with 3 CHF for an extra empty plate, which we wanted to use to exchange and share food, but which we didn't even use, because it came much... More

Good day Hartmut D. Thank you for your feedback. You've visited us with eight people and ordered seven times food and for the eighth person an additional plate. It is quite common to charge a small contribution of 3 CHF for the use of infrastructure by this additional person. Moreover, we don't agree that it is a poor value for... More

After a walk to the Morteratsch glacier or after skiing down from Diavolezza, a nice place to have either good food in a nice mountain atmosphere or just a hot chocolate on the sun terrace. You can also come by car or a by train using the Bernina Express

You could come by car or on foot - or even on cross-country skis in the winter but with insufficient snow that latter was impossible, so we took the Rhätische Bahn, which stops outside. First to the glacier - or what's left of it. The sorrowful posts at the side of the path show how far it has retreated. We... More

Visited twice - for an enjoyable coffee after a 5.5km walk through the pine forest from Pontresina and then a late lunch after walking up to the Morteratsch glacier. The restaurant terrace has wonderful views of the mountains and river which was very pretty in autumn with the leaves changing colour. Regular trains pass by as well. Our lunch choices... More

The restaurant is quite fine; we get two goulash soups (not bad) and an hamburgher and a sausage with a very good rosti. The price is high but in Switzerland and in mountain is the normal rate i think!
