We started from the Kronenhof Hotel, walked through the small city of Pontresina and entered a wonderful valley with not too much snow, many spruces and larchs and in the middle a rapid stream. After 2 hours walking, always slightly uphill theforrest desappeared and a wide snow full valley opens with a dramatic view to the mountains and the Roseg... More

we have been hiking through snow for a good 15 years to get to this wonderful restaurant, year after year, every year, without fail. The high quality of ingredients, the diverse menu, the beautiful presentation, the warm and lovely service, all contributes to a fantastic outing. My father organized his 65th birthday dinner here and we booked all the rooms;... More

Hiking or biking up the Roseg valley is a 7km journey and longer than many might think, but at the end, you will find this restaurant with a huge terrace overlooking the upper end of the valley and the mountains behind. It is big and on sunny days you have to expect long waits to get served. Food is ok,... More

Once you hike or take the horse carriage into Val Roseg, this is the only sign of civilization. As a monopoly on food and drink for tired tourists, it's not cheap. The menu is heavily meat and game oriented, with pasta as well. We only had minestrone soup, which was quite good, and dessert - an apple torte -- which... More

Was her last weekend for a nice family lunch. Everything was great, the food, the wine, the service, the dessert table, the local grappa with alpine herbs. Of course its not cheap, but its worth every penny you pay. Trust me on that one!!

I've reviewed this place before, and already back then I mentioned that my family knows the owners. The Engadine is a small place and most people know everybody. But in the interest of honesty, I wanted to repeat that! The restaurant is amazing, and I've probably been there a dozen times since I last reviewed it. The service is always... More
