Mid range restaurant serving good food but nothing special. Smallish portions. Lots of other restaurants in Kandersteg so will try another next time.

We enjoyed an afternoon gin and tonic in the courtyard after a strenuous day of walking. It was raining but we decided to sit outside under the awning....the barman saying " I don't care where you sit".....After drinks we decided to book a table for dinner that evening. We attempted to book a table but found it very hard work... More

This is a good sized hotel in the centre of the village. It has its own car park, though most travellers probably arrive by train. Our room was large, clean and very comfortable with tasteful furnishings but no room safe. Tea/coffee making machine in the room, but only polystyrene cups to drink out from! Good sound-proofing, and jaw-dropping mountain scenery... More

Two hundred year hotel in lovely location. Tea and coffee in rooms. Varied continental breakfast. Had two evening meals which were tasty but small portions.

we arrived at 9 PM. That was already a bit late for such a place. But the food was good. it is also a nice place for an afternoon tea or ice cream.

On a walking holiday, I wanted to try the Swiss Tapas variations, which looked fun, as a main course. But for starters I ordered the cold cucumber soup. Unspectacular? Think again! The flavour was fantastic (salty, as you expect in Switzerland, but marvellous). The cream cheese balls in the soup were wonderful. The vegetarian Tapas variations were very unusual, and... More

This review is going to be a rather short one, as I dont think it's worth wasting too many words on the experience we had here. Don't get me wrong, the food and service is very good. However the evening was absolutely ruined by the drunk, loud, impolite and agressive female owner of the establishment. For hours on end, she... More

We were at the special night "Dine and Dance" during the Belle Epoque week in January 2015. The ambience was fantastic, the buffet was average, where I can say that the salad buffet was better than the warm buffet.

We ran out of options, and decided to try this restaurant, which after reading all the negative reviews, we were apprehensive to say the least. And boy we were surprised, the waitress was very attentive and helpful. The food was really good and well presented. And to the comments of people about the price... Switzerland is one of the most...
