The crab salad was beyond delicious and such a generous portion, the same can be said for the steak and ale pie and the staff were very friendly. Would definitely visit again if we're ever back in the area.

Great lunch with friends good selection and a warm welcome...the food was lovely and all requestd met.. even the quirky one (beef sandwich) with beef on the side), optional veg offered instead of mushy peas ! Well worth another visit for an occasional lunch !

I have been visiting this fine olde world inn for 48 years and it has little changed. Candle lights, log fires, scrubbed top tables dog friendly and a selection of real ale make it one of my all time favourites. On this occasion we came...More

7 slightly chilly cyclists called in one Saturday. Two well burning fires were very welcome as was the soup (and before that some coffee - two great pots on the table). Good food and service, we were in better shape to face the chill.

Lovely friendly pub with friendly staff and great atmosphere. Great beer but avoid the burgers! Chicken stuffed with haggis was delicious but the burgers were surpringly disappointing. Would visit again but choose differently from the menu.

There's always at least one interesting option, often more, but they're very helpful, so would probably do something else if not suitable
