Stopped on the way the the airport for some lunch. After traveling quite a way, done our party needed the toilet. When we arrived, the pub was shut but, on checking the opening times, we decided to wait the twenty minutes until the advertised opening time. The pub opened 10 minutes late. In that time, several staff acknowledged that we... More

We frequently visit with friends and find the staff very friendly and accommodating. The home cooked food is always excellent especially the carvery. Booking is essential on a Sunday.

We have been coming here on and off since 1979 when we lived nearby and it was a small locals pub with a tiny lounge and a few farmers kept their tankards by the bar. Several years ago it was enlarged and the food including carvery was excellent. Last week we came here with family and we most disappointed. The... More

Sunday carvery offering a variety of portions to suit everyone's budget. Properly cooked vegetables with plenty of flavour. Choice of meats. All this and happy staff. We arrived to coincide with a visit from the local Birds of Prey centre in the pub garden. Thank you to all, we will be back!

4 of us had a carvery lunch today and were pleasantly surprised to find that their medium sized meal was on special offer. The food was fresh and hot and was worth the normal price never mind the special offer. The staff are friendly and the place is clean and tidy in wonderful surroundings. Excellent!!

Modestly priced and with large and small meal options, our Sunday Lunch was a huge success. Disabled parking was mostly lower down but I prefer to park at the top and stay at that level to avoid lots of steps. You need to be at the bottom if you wish to dine outside in warmer weather. From the outside, this friendly country pub looks quite small but inside it is surprisingly large with smaller cosy areas off the main dining area. For the money, this was probably one of the best carveries I have ever had - how they serve quality food for such a great value for money price is amazing. Friendly staff, open fire,... More
